Because we don’t care. Iranians are competent enough to handle their own affairs. We do not need to jump in and ”install” a leader |
If Khamenei’s regime is overthrown by the people of Iran, it will be a huge disruption in the world order. We don’t get to say we “don’t care” and pretend it’s not happening. |

My dear compatriots,
With your courage and steadfastness, you have earned the admiration of the world. Your renewed and magnificent presence in the streets across Iran on Friday evening was a resounding response to the threats of the treacherous and criminal leader of the Islamic Republic. I am certain that he has seen these images from his hiding place and trembled in fear. Now, with your decisive response to the first call, I am certain that by making our street presence more targeted, and at the same time, by cutting off the financial lifelines, we will completely bring the Islamic Republic and its worn-out and fragile repression apparatus to its knees. In this regard, I invite workers and employees in key sectors of the economy, especially transportation, oil, gas, and energy, to begin the nationwide strike. Also, I ask all of you today and tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday (January 10 and 11), this time, from 6 p.m., to come to the streets with flags, images, and national symbols and claim public spaces as your own. Our goal is no longer merely to come to the streets; the goal is to prepare for seizing the centers of cities and holding them. To achieve this goal, move toward the more central parts of the cities from different routes as much as possible and connect separate crowds. At the same time, prepare now to stay in the streets and gather the necessary supplies. To the youth of Iran's Immortal Guard, and all armed and security forces who have joined the national cooperation platform, I say: Slow down and disrupt the repression machine even more so that on the appointed day, we can completely disable it. I too am preparing to return to the homeland so that at the time of our national revolution's victory, I can be beside you, the great nation of Iran. I believe that day is very near. Long live Iran! |
No, they don’t want Americans to be successfully inspired. |
This just happened in Minnesota. |

We have enough going on right here in the USA. Why do we need to worry about protestors in Iran when American protestors are being shot in the face, arrested, tear gassed and more. Deal with what's going on in your own house. |
Yes! We need to point out the hypocrisy of the Trump administration on this issue over and over. On the one hand Trump threatens the Iranian regime to not harm protestors, while at the same time giving federal agents a pass when they fire upon protestors in the US. |

Nonsense. "Liberal" western outlets have covered the Iran protests extensively, including the parts where demonstrators criticize the Islamic Republic, burn mosques, reject clerical rule, or chant against compulsory religion. Major publications — from the BBC and Reuters to the New York Times, Guardian, AP, DW, and CNN have repeatedly reported: - attacks on regime‑aligned mosques - slogans rejecting theocracy - anger at clerics and the morality police - the broader revolt against the Islamic Republic’s religious authority None of that has been hidden or downplayed by the media. The real reason coverage fluctuates is simple: news cycles, not ideology. When protests surge, coverage surges. When the regime cracks down and demonstrations become harder to document, coverage naturally drops — the same pattern seen in Hong Kong, Sudan, Belarus, and elsewhere. There’s no evidence that Western journalism is suppressing the story because protesters criticize Islam. In fact, the opposite is true: Western outlets have been some of the only institutions consistently documenting how Iranians challenge the regime’s religious authority. These constant smears of "liberal" and "western" media are not grounded in facts or reality and can only come from or play to people who themselves live in their own tiny echo chamber of restricted media consumption. |
The Iranians have balls. We just keep going on with our lives as all our rights and freedom of speech are chipped away. |
That first paragraph? It’s where the US is headed. |
Venezuela was not in our own house either. |
So are the Israeli Jews who fled their MENA homelands in the 1950s-70s also colonialists? Should they have remained and been killed? What's your point? Sincerely, Someone who has opposed Israel's occupation of Gaza/West Bank for decades |
Honestly with this current Administration I think we all might be better off if this were the case. |
