2 found dead at Rob Reiner's house; possibly Rob and his wife

Well, this has been an awful weekend to end a pretty dark year in general. 2025 feels like looking into an abyss worldwide.

I’ve been trying to remember the exact exchange but I once had a quick encounter on the old Twitter with Romy, I think I said something about either her dad or grandfather, she liked it, I said something like ‘you’re so lucky to have them both’ and she responded thank you! I agree! With a heart.

From what I’ve read so far it seems she found them and also lived across the street with her family in a different house. I wonder how much she’s wondering if there was a chance her brother might have just gone to her house next. I know I would be in shock like that.

Good people can do everything in their power to raise good kids, and sometimes it just does not happen.

+1 and very likely has a mental illness diagnosis other than just drug addiction. Similar to many homeless individuals, he has a history of resistance to interventions.

Why is rehab so ineffective? This isn't a matter of money or access. I have a brother like this too, I don't trust him and just hope he doesn't rage out like this some day.

It’s ineffective when people are only doing it out of force. Same as all therapy.

I can't wait for the day we get to read social media posts reacting to his death. He is a horrible human being.

Me too. I plan to have a party, personally.

Me too!

MAGA is TDS. They are literally the definition of it, a cult of hate and stupidity.

He is such a terrible human being

Don't be so gullible. Everything is fake now.

It's being reported by CNN. This one is very much real.

Right and they never get it wrong. It's fake.

It is not fake. Just stop it. He is a horrible, deplorable human. And if you support him or excuse him, so are you.

Neurological wiring and brain chemistry can be difficult to treat and manage. Often, these individuals also have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

I feel horrible for his children. Imagine losing both parents due to your sibling and then the president of the United States making a terrible day even worse.

It’s really really hard to fix. The human brain is like the oceans - we have only begun to understand it. That’s why I scoff when people say “more mental health and drug treatment” as if it’s like an antibiotic that just works.

Same. My brother just did another stint in rehab this summer. My parents are so hopeful (and footed the bill), my mom constantly talks about how much better he's doing. I want to share her optimism but we've been down this road so many times at this point. Even when rehab is effective for some time, eventually people leave and rejoin society, and lose whatever was working in rehab.

I don't know what the answer is. My brother is a dad and that was sort of when I lost hope -- when he couldn't get it together for his kid, who I know he loves. If not even that will overcome the addiction, I just don't know that anything will.

He's being held on $4 million bail

I was just thinking, Rob Reiner is one of the few most popular people in Hollywood that the online trolls never picked up on to conduct one of their ritual sexual deviant smear campaigns

Maybe there might actually be enough old people in the country who have such lasting affection for his work that they might ... pause

Brain chemistry and neurological wiring make it really, really challenging to overcome. It's all so very sad.

He needed to be in a mental hospital.
