Hundreds of thousands of folks live in the Mohawk river valley area and have for a long time. They have coats and hats and gloves and do just fine in the winter. But if you don't like winter, there are hundreds if not thousands of other options for you.

I can't imagine sending my kid to some backwards red state, but people do it.

With extremely affordable and accessible skiing, can't think of many schools that offer that, but keeping spending your money on trips to Colorado. Nothing like skiing in the Addie's on a Sunday in February.

The main attraction is the Walmart a few towns over.

Notable history of this band of upstate NY includes that of the early women's rights conventions, prominent utopian communities, the Erie Canal and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

I believe Hamilton's Alpine skiers favor Labrador Mountain, which is just over an hour away. Nordic skiing is available right on Hamilton's campus.

There a couple of smaller resorts within an hour. Gore Mountain and Whiteface are about 2.5 hours away so yes, easy day trips. Hamilton also has a club ski team.

Snow Ridge and McCauley Mountain are 45 and 60 miles away respectfully. With rates under $50 for college students.

More trashing of science and science education by DCUM posters. Enjoy med school if that is your path. If I knew my doc was an arrogant jack ass trashing science teachers, I would find a new doctor.

Nonetheless, Hamilton places 27th among all schools and 6th among LACs in enrollment-adjusted information for Wall Street and IB placement, for those interested in such potentially lucrative careers:
