I mean, I like Sabrina's music but I wouldn't say she's a great role model or even a role model at all? She's a pop star. I think a major issue with some parents is they expect celebrities to be role models to their kids then act incensed when they learn that, shockingly, a single childless 25yo whose career is shaking their ass on stage is not a good role model. I'm a millennial and this was a thing in the late 90s. From her first album to her nervous breakdown, Britney Spears was putting out increasingly sexual music and parents were pissed. Why these people were relying on a white trash teenager from Louisiana to parent their kids I'll never know. It's not Sabrina Carpenter's job to parent your kids. It's her job to make music and put on a show. Her demographic is not kids. It's women and gay men ages 18-34. You should aim to be your kids' role model rather than relying on a celebrity to fill that void. |
I like Sabrina's music now but I would've been super scandalized by her songs as a tween lol. Then again my parents actually parented and didn't let me listen to adult content. |
No. I expect to hear songs about Christmas not a live reenactment of the nativity scene. Prince was a sexy singer but he didn’t strip off his clothes on stage and dry hump or pretend oral sex on stage. Thats a different kind of show No? I’ve also seen Madonna which was sexy, def a little suggestive but not this. Call me weird or whatever, but I think it’s reasonable to expect to see a singer, sing, not live soft porn. |
Well, most of our parents didn’t “let” us, we just did it anyway. I remember my parents taking away my Tupac and Dr. Dre CD’s. 😤 |
| Janet Jackson strapped a male concertgoer to a table and climbed on top wearing a leather catsuit during one of her tours. This is nothing new. |
| How quickly can you take your clothes off pop quiz! |
| does she take them to howard stern tapings and walk out there too? |
| I mean, the name of the song is Bed Chem. What did you expect? My tween listens to Sabrina on the radio but no way would I take her to a concert. |
You’ve been missing years of good football. The last 3 at least have been very tame. How old is your son? He can still just watch the half time show online the next day. |
+1 I don't know if anyone saw what Janet Jackson did during her 2001 'All For You' tour when she would bring a man on stage for the song "Would You Mind", now that was scandalous and very R-rated. The clip in the OP is rainbows and puppies compared to Janet. |
| Who buys tickets for something that expensive for their kid without doing a quick google? |
