My religion is better than other religions. Period.

Maybe for just Christians and Jews and Muslims?

This. It's not true for Buddhism or Hinduism, the other two major religions of the world.

The countries with a caste system and known to br among the most unethical societies in the world?

You reek of racism. You think that Christian feudal Europe was better?

There has always been a difference between the morals of a religion and the actual application of it within a society. None have been perfect. Christians are not better than any others.

Immigration patterns say otherwise.

Bye now, racist!

This is a thread about religion, not race.

Do try to stay on topic, we know that you can do it.

Then work on your reading comprehension and try to follow along instead of moronic posts that show you have no clue about the rest of the thread. F()cking idiot.

Please reference the earlier posts about race not religion.

You are wrong.

Then explain this poster: Take a look at modern migration patterns.

Ask yourself where people are fleeing and where they are moving to.

Look at the religious traditions in those countries.

This is nothing more than a veiled racism.

I guess you missed the post above yours, which attempted to humorously point out that you are committing a classic "Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc" fallacy. Correlation /= causation. Fail.

With that logic you could credit those migration patterns to the popularity of the NFL or Spongebob, or the countries with the most McDonalds. I think the data shows (and no, I won't cite it) that most immigration patterns throughout history are overwhelmingly driven by economics and economic opportunity. To claim it is from some other social element without evidence is patently ridiculous. Please stop.

I don't understand what you are trying to argue.

Here is a summary of the posts:

Post 1: There has always been a difference between the morals of a religion and the actual application of it within a society. None have been perfect. Christians are not better than any others.

Post 2: Immigration patterns say otherwise.

Post 3: How exactly?

Post 4: Take a look at modern migration patterns. Ask yourself where people are fleeing and where they are moving to. Look at the religious traditions in those countries.

My read of Post 4 was veiled racism, especially with prior posts that also asserted that European and American Christian systems were "better" than other areas of the world.

I agree with you, "that most immigration patterns throughout history are overwhelmingly driven by economics and economic opportunity. To claim it is from some other social element without evidence is patently ridiculous." I am not the one trying to make the racist posts. I assume you are not that poster either.

Oh what a tangled web we weave.....

What's better in Europe and America is that religion is dying in both places -- faster in Europe.

And what societies created the most economic opportunity?

Take off your white pointed hood, put away your white Christian nationalism reading materials, and read Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond. Then, you may come back and present an argument.

Guns, germs and steel is a good work but also reductionist environmental determinism that culture. It does offer some interesting historical perspectives on technology, state formation, and military advances. However, ironically fails to explain what liberals like you purport to care about most: equality, human dignity, universalism, rights-focused thinking, concern for victims and marginalized and skepticism of authority.

I am Buddhist and this is definitely not the most important issue.
