+1 Just for once, FOR ONCE, can this administration actually acknowledge this ridiculous speech is wrong? I also think the Virginia AG candidates text were wrong. I do not think they were worse though. For goodness sake, can't we Americans be united against hateful speech like this? |
It's pretty common for Christians to mostly ignore the teachings of Jesus. |
He also thinks these doughy neckbeards are in college. |
| NP. I’m a deeply disillusioned lifelong Democrat who basically despises the entire Democratic party now, but cannot stomach voting Republican. It’s stuff like this that is why. It’s just too endemic in the Republican party. |

Same, very frustrated with Democrats, but I cannot stomach how the Republican party overlooks this stuff with "whataboutism." As a woman, also cannot stomach how they embrace Christian nationalists like Hesgeth or Kirk who use the bible as an excuse for viewing women as subservient. |

vote for democrats or watch as you sit on the sidelines as the country falls deeper into a christian nationalist state very binary |

You answered your own question. They lack a moral compass because their political role models lack a moral compass. |
hm.. is that why the government says you shouldn't use signal for top secret chats? |

Just saw another Republican try to dismiss this as "banter" "between college students." You've got 30 year leaders in Republican organizations talking about gassing Jews.
The party is like a cult where no level of dishonesty or hatred seems to be disqualifying. |

What these exchanges illustrates what a lot of democrats and indendents on these boards have been trying to articulate. The division between the GOP and the rest of the country is no longer about "politics" - a policy disagreement about how much to invest in roads versus solar or crime mitigation via more cops on the streets versus more afterschool programs is one thing.
But these exchanges show that the very core of the GOP is now based on the various '-isms' that civil rights activitists have been fighting for for hundreds of years. So when people on the right tell people on the left to "get over it" and "it was just an election" - no, it isn't. We are fighting for our right to exist, our right not to be gassed, our right to have access to jobs and opportunity and the same privileges as these fat white dudes are enjoying. |
