Hi. Well Jan 4th I started quarters and cut 2 weeks worth of fairly uniform ones. I used the slightly smallish ones last, so today finished those.
Tomorrow Jan 18th I will start bits smaller than 1/4 but bigger than 1/8, or so I hope. I dug a week worth out of my "shards" collection but will have to cut more. |
|
Ok so tomorrow starts the third and last week of bits smaller than a quarter. Then on to the even smaller "shards" from my little container of chopped and shattered pills from cutting. I use tweezers and will pick out larger ones then the tiniest. Then done. Hopefully in time for Meteorological Spring! πΈ
A bit hyper this week. Storm, cold, pipes, car, Patch Tuesday terrors. But onward. |
I was just thinking about you today, wondering if the awful weather was taking a toll on you. It has me. Iβm so glad youβre still on the path to feeling free from dependency on the pills! |
| What happens if you just stop altogether at this point? These reports on shards and pieces sound like you are almost finished with this whole mess, right? Good luck. |
| Iβm so glad youβre keeping up the progress. I tend to agree with the above poster. Are the shards some kind of psychological safety mechanism? Or can you simply stop? Iβm worried that this hyper focus on smaller and smaller rather than DONE is part of the problem. |
| I was just thinking of you last night, OP! I went through a similar nightmare myself two years ago and happy to report I almost never use lorazepam now. You're just about there. |
| And people wonder why nobody trusts big pharma |

Mitigation of rebound hypertension eg 160/100 not 120/70 first noticed in medical settings.
Not dangerous but disturbing. Calms down after a week. Half a small amount is a 50% reduction. Doctor suggested slowing down. Will post back when DONE. Thank you all. |

Hello. Well here it is Friday March 13, 2026.
It is my Freedom Day. I did small quarters, shards, crumbs. Each stepdown time I did have wakeful nights after 3 or 4 days. But they passed. Blood pressure seems ok. I do 4-7-8 breathing at night before I sleep and after waking in the night. So it took 207 days. Maybe a slow taper but that is what I did, after 7 years and 2 months of 3 pills a day. |

Yay for you!!!! Thanks for keeping us posted!!!

Thank YOU and all the other posters for the encouragement and support!
Special thanks to those who went before me and told me it could be done. I hope this thread helps someone else one day. πΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉπΉ Happy Friday the 13th! π |
