Why do you think Northwestern is not in the “ivy plus“ bracket?

Huh? Northwestern is too good at sports to be considered Ivy+? What does that mean for Duke and Stanford?

In a paper on college admissions, Harvard professors define Ivy-Plus college as Ivy League, Stanford, MIT, Duke, and Chicago. They say that Ivy-Plus colleges are distinctive in this respect: a far smaller share of individuals in these leadership positions attended other highly selective colleges (e.g., public state flagship universities or other highly-ranked private colleges) despite the fact that those institutions enroll many more students.

Harvard professors also think Jews are fun to chase around campus.

Again, not insulting either. Being 14 and 15 is truly incredible.

And Ivies will always be Ivies. It is a cottage industry here to insult the non-HYP ivies. Guess what - they will always be incredibly desirable. They will always lose plenty of kids to other schools. But they will always be at or near the top.

lol what a dumb take. Hopkins and NU outshine and out rank many other top 15 schools. brown and dartmouth stem is woefully bad.

USnews is compromised and its rating system is suspect .

It's not actually a made up category.

The Ivy Plus Libraries confederation includes the 8 Ivy, Duke, Chicago, MIT, Stanford, and Johns Hopkins.
It has become shorthand for ivy level schools but there are notable exclusions like Caltech, Northwestern, Bucknell, Carnegie Mellon and others.

There is a list of 34 elite schools that tend to be overrepresented in prominent positions in society.

The reason nobody on DCUM references this list is because U Chicago smokes many of the Ivies, and they can't come to grips with the fact that it's an exceptional school, let alone the other global schools.
