The tall men that die at 60 are ones with medical conditions that cause their growth. They could have very short parents that carry a gene and they still grow to 6’10”.
The median age of death of former NBA players is 81.2. |
No one believes that a 5’2” dad and 4’11” mom are the biological parents of a 6’ son. Unless daddy had some of illness or injury which stunted his growth, then your anecdote is invalid. |
Do you understand how genetics work? |
Meh. Most of them do not go on to lead healthy lifestyles once they retire from the NBA. |
Do you. It it highly unlikely that they are both his biological parents the exception being if both mom and da were malnourished as children and thus did not achieve their full heights, the son has an underlying genetic disorder contributing to his height both of these are less likely than mommy sleeping around or the son not actually being 6 ft alof of men in the 5'9" range claim 6ft |
Anyway, answering the OP it's pure biology. Humans are mammals- specifically primate, and generally speaking in the mammal/primate world the big male attracts all the females seen as strong, a protector, a provider, healthy likely to produce strong healthy offspring etc. We'rre a lot more primal than we want to believe sometimes. Of course we have evolved to look for other things, which is why men of all heights end up with partners. |
Lol. Man you are wild lol |
dp.. I can attest to what the ^PP stated. DH is just over 6'2". His is just smaller than average. |
I wasn't that poster but you obviously don't comprehend how genetics work. FYI my short well nourished came from generationak wealth aunts married short men and also had some tall boys. |
People can carry genes that they don’t actually show any traits of. That’s how a kid with blonde hair and blue eyes can be a possible offspring of two parents that both have brown hair and brown eyes. It’s just simple genetics. Some people might carry a gene for taller height but not actually be tall themselves. If their offspring gets that gene then you end up with a tall child. |
I do understand how genetics work. And genetics say it is far more likely your mom had a baby with another man than your brother being your father's biological son |
It's human nature. And women are better off with taller men.

Idiotic comment…and many continue to be athletic throughout their lives however, 81.2 is longer than the average male life expectancy and longer than 60. |
I have never cared about it but I am a smidge shorter than 5'0" and my taller friends say I don't care because for the most part I don't have to as most people -- including children -- are taller than me. |
Super tall men are gross. Most are either overweight or skinny. Not my type. |
