Why do woman like super tall men ?

Anonymous
This is crazy to me some women and men have thus fixation with height thats hard to explain. I'm only 5'11 and my friends who are 5'10 and lower have not had issues attracting women. In fact we are all married.

And women preferences change as they age. While a woman who is 27 may say she wants a guy who is at least 6'2, the same women if divorced 15 years later not make height such a deal breaker. Similarly a 27 years old man may say he wants a woman who looks stunning, the same man if he divorced 15 years later may not make a woman's look such a deal breaker.

I'm a short woman and I can remember when I dated a short guy everyone said we'd be "breeding midgets." Although true, it stung.

haha.. I'm barely 5', and DH is 6'2" and a bit. Most of the guys are dated were between 5'8" and 5'11". I did not go seeking a tall man, but that's who I ended up with.

I did not think about kids when I was dating since I was never sure I even wanted kids. But, it's true that if I had married and had children with the 5'8" guy, my kids would be short.

As it is, my kids are above average, bordering on tall. 20 yr old DS is close to 6'.

Thankfully, on DCUM short mothers invariably have tall sons.

I know that's not the case universally, but it is the case for my kids. We thought our kids would be average sized, but I think because they were late bloomers, they grew taller than expected.

Height is weird. I'm 5'11 and my wife 5'3. Our daughter is 10 and 4'6. Our son is 13 and 5'10.5. our son is very tall for a 13 years old. If he is not done growing he may end up being 6'2+.

I don't believe what a woman says, I believe what she does.

Haha no they don’t. Every week there is a new post where a short mom is fretting because DS is short. They are desperate for clues and success stories that somehow their short 10% of height distribution boy somehow ends up at 6’3” after his growth spurt. Now they have started giving the short boys growth hormones, crazy.

My parents are 4'11 and 5 ft 2 im 5ft and a woman. Brothers are 5'11 and 6ft. Though their wives are 5ft 3 and 5ft6 their son is 6ft 3 and the other son is tall for his age but still a child. So it really depends. I date and I am attracted to tall men only though.

Short people really do live longer. DH and I are slightly above age height and our kids have had some minor but ongoing health issues that make me thank the universe daily for their and our health. Height is the last thing on my mind.

Maybe you hang around or live among shorter people and height is important in your circles because of that. I grew up in one of the tallest nations and height doesn't really come up at all.
It's your environment causing your angst. I've dated men 3-4 inches shorter than I.

I never understood the hype around tall men . They either are too big like look scary or too stretched out and look awkward .

Tall men have many health problems , and don’t make it past 60 years old . They also are narcissistic , and have poor personalities due to how society worships them .

I personally never saw having tall children as a prize . I would actually prefer if my children weren’t too tall as tall kids are often treated as adults . Tall kids don’t have a childhood .

Being short comes with many perks , short people are healthier , and have an extended youth .

I think men in the 5’8- 5’11 spot look the best , and are the best of the both worlds .

Agreed! Tall men just perpetuate toxic masculinity.

This is absolutely true, although we must assign partial responsibility for this on these horrible, horrible, boy-moms (especially in this area).

We fall into the aforementioned Asian-white marriage; I'm 5'3" and DH is 6'1". His mom is only 4'11" so not sure what happened there. Height and genes are weird for sure.

Our just-turned 15 year old is also 6'1". At his well-check, the doctor said he's still got some growing to do.

I don't like men for their height! I've been attracted to men who are 5'5" to men who are 6'3". DH is funny, kind, thoughtful, and hardworking (and not "super tall" either).

I'm 5'4" and I prefer men who are 5'11" to 6'2".

Usually it's because men who are taller than that seem gangly. I like proportional muscles on a medium-large frame.

But honestly the thing that most attracts me is someone who is funny and smart.

Height issue preference is from hunter gatherer era. In today's world unless you want him for your basketball team or cleaning rain gutters, there is little value in height unless it comes with great strength and you live in a shady neighborhood warranting a need for protection walking around.

Yeah but you can't change what you find attractive just because you understand its role in mate selection.

Like my brain will just go, "Oooooooh, you're tall" when I'm around an attractive, tall man.
