Democratic Candidates to Succeed Gerry Connolly

I'm meh on Walkinshaw, mainly because I'd like someone less "establishment".

Anyone want to convince me on one of the other candidates?

Shin, Martinez, and Roma are great alternatives.

Shin’s campaign staff were touting her as a Bernie-like alternative.

Martinez escaped persecution from Venezuela while serving as an elected official. He also recently worked as a lawyer for the US Department of Commerce.

Roma has been a force behind the scenes on the international stage. She knows how Congressional actions get stuff done.

So great, thanks for sharing!

Just read Pekarsky's answers.

She sponsored the Casino bill because she wanted to "put it on the table" so people could decide? Surprisingly, no one asked her about her large Comstock donations. She also said the unions wanted it.

She would support impeaching the "criminal" in the White House. So much for bi-partisanship.

All her talk about money in politics, but she sure has a lot of it.

Shin was endorsed by David Hogg so she would be the “antiestablishment” candidate if that is important to you.

Lee’s opening statement at the forum was excellent.

Shin and Pekarsky trying to out progressive each other. But, Shin is certainly more in the right age range for Hogg.

All this talk of who else to vote for is going to cause a vote split towards Pekarsky. The old, vote every election Dems who don't go to Euope or the OBX the holiday week are voting Walkinshaw. The only reason I'm voting for him is because I don't want Pekarsky. Roma seems great, but until 2 weeks ago, no one in Vienna had even heard of her. Perhaps she should do something locally, first.

I’m really sick of voting for people so someone else won’t win. I wish we did ranked voting, which solves that.

+1

The primary feels so rigged but ABW—anyone but Walkinshaw.

It isn’t Connolly’s personal seat. It belongs to the voters.

And anyone who we elect as a D will fight the Administration.

Robert Garcia is the new ranking member of the Oversight Committee, he seems like a great pick.

+1 million to this.

I’ll be voting for Walkinshaw today.

And if Pekarsky, Surovell, and my own VA Delegate Seibold are reading - supporting that casino bill against the will of your constituents is not likely to be forgotten.

I voted early at Kilmer. Steady stream of people. Lots of Pekarsky volunteers.
