Are the new 9th graders the top of the class?

At GDS they divide the class into the "Lifers" and the "Snipers" who come in 9th grade and demolish everyone academically! It turns out you can't tell how smart kids are in Kindergarden, but you can by 8th grade...

You would have us believe that only those students who joined GDS in 9th grade are winning all the awards and getting admitted to top colleges?

I imagine you could also divide the lifers into first born and siblings.

This is not true at our school, this year and last the valedictorian and salutatorian are all lifers headed to T20 schools. New 9th graders are good but not the top students.

And you've conveniently left out a quarter to third of the class that joined in 3rd, 4th, or 6th grade.
