But you're totally ok with liquor stores right next to UDC? Right?

Pretty sure CW liquor predates that UDC location by several decades. But yeah, I would also oppose any new liquor stores for sure.

You would oppose adults having access to a liquor store? You realize these are adults, right??

Which part of “new” do you need help with? Maybe lay off the ganja for a bit, you seem paranoid.

Love the deflection! I asked you why you would oppose a new liquor store serving adults. Please explain.

Getting stoned out of your gourd is not really comparable to having a beer.

Pretty sure pot was invented by some ingenious rich guy somewhere as a way for poor people to keep themselves down.

Idiots.

The DC government permitted a dispensary literally between two UDC student buildings. The students at a school designed to lift the marginalized out of poverty (with our tax money) now has easy access to cheap, abundant, legal weed. I don’t want to hear about institutional racism anymore.

Opposing the legalization of cannabis is a form of white supremacy.

Legalizing cannabis will do more to keep down generations of low SES individuals than almost anything else.

Not if we provide UBI.

People that smoke marijuana all day and play video games don’t deserve a UBI.

It’s illegal under federal to sell marijuana within one thousand feet of a public or private college. This location should never have been licensed in the first place. The fact that it’s on the same block as several “nuisance” properties makes it all the more shocking. Yet also strangely comical and completely on brand for DC.

DC progressives never miss an opportunity to step on the rake. My favorite is when they decriminalized street vending and then we slowly watched as every CVS in the city was quickly looted. Now we are faced with higher prices, fewer stores, and the indignity of having to find a store clerk just to buy deodorant. The weed store at UDC may be their most visible failure, but they’re not done yet.

That is irrelevant.

It was in response to someone comparing medical marijuana dispensaries (reminder: medical marijuana is not a thing that actually exists!) to liquor stores, so, yeah, seems kinda relevant.

The medical marijuana dispensary was next to the medical vodka dispensary

Nobody deserves UBI. It's a basic human right!

Pot was "invented?" It's a plant. That has been consumed for thousands of years.

Another day, another thread full of DCUM shriveled up prunes whining about people consuming a plant. Have another bottle of wine, you lush.

I think that was supposed to be snarky. Maybe you should lay off the weed if you didnt get that. Sounds like you may not have many brain cells left.

Keep posting about the oppression plant. Legalization is the worst case scenario for low socioeconomic status individuals.

The soft bigotry of low expectations. It's pretty shocking to see all the dc kids smoking out in the open after school.

DC is disgusting because of the pot smell. It’s everywhere. Thanks to those who want it legal.
