Is city scent of DC Pot now?

We have a city tree, a city flower, a city bird.

Is the city scent now pot?

As the weather warms up either there are now more pot smokers walking about or perhaps it is just my windows rolled down as I drive around. Even the kids mention it from the back seat and start cackling and bringing up the "stinky" streets.

I guess congratulations to us. We legalized it and through lack of any sort of enforcement now we are the city of pot. Drivers literally smoking and driving. You can't use bus stops because why shouldn't smokers be in the small sheltered area.

I almost have started romanticizing in my mind the old smell of cigarettes as I went for a walk. Now it is pot and we call that an upgrade.

I was gonna say it’s the smell of vibrancy and diversity.

It’s incredibly embarrassing. All of our out of town guests ask about it. This is why we can’t have nice things.

It's every city, not just DC, and it's gross

This is what you all voted for! I didn't understand why everyone got behind this. I didn't think you could just smoke it out in public walking down the street or have a car full of smoke (driving under the influence?) Why won't the police stop it? Don't need to arrest or throw them on the ground, but simply make them put it out, but they won't, and I don't understand why.
Also, it may be AAs that are smoking it in public, but I've been to plenty of events where it is majority white ppl and they are lighting up in public places too.

It's the smell of freedom

It IS an upgrade over cigarette smoke and it’s fine. Get over the it or move, Karen. There are far more important things to fret about.

I voted against it for this reason.

Me too. And it is every city. It's like the 60s with cigarette smoke all over again.

Please. It's gross. Just as gross at cigarettes.

In what way is it an upgrade over cigarette smoke? It’s equally disgusting.

It smells foul. They're both gross. Smoke it all you want, but try to do so where it doesn't affect others.

+1
And driving while getting high!

But that’s OK because you know, the citizens voted for it and you know “equity”.
