DP. Not trying to be argumentative but how do you know whether or not these individuals were members of TdA--or any other gang? The administration did not provide any evidence. THEY DON'T FEEL THEY HAVE TO. That's part of the problem.

Previously, on April 7, 2025, the Supreme Court addressed the procedural aspects of such deportations. In that ruling, the Court emphasized that individuals detained under the Alien Enemies Act are entitled to:​ “Notice and an opportunity to challenge their removal.” ​

Obviously these action by the SC are not the final word on the matter, but they do show that the SC court is interested in due process--for now.
The administration does not have to provide evidence, unless there is a habeas claim. That is what the ACLU is bringing before the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court already ruled the government has to provide notice, which it did.

Keep up. The Venezuelan government has been accepting back its citizens since March. The deportees sent to CECOT were Venezuelan and Salvadoran.

Venezuela canceled that. I read they then started accepting flights again after people were being sent to CECOT.
That would contradict this thread, unless the new AEA deportations are to Venezuela.


DP. Not sure what an AEA deportation is but apparently Venezuela has been accepting deportation flights from the US since March 23.

My question now is: who else is Trump planning to send to CECOT, other than Salvadorans, since they can no longer send Venezuelans there?

I don't remember the timing, but Venezuela stopped accepting flights after earlier agreeing to them. I think now Venezuela is accepting flights.

Here is a question for you: If they were sent to El Salvador only because Maduro wouldn't take them, please explain why a flight of Venezuelans had to be stopped by the Supreme Court on Saturday morning.

We don't know for sure because there is no transparency ever. The administration will say whatever lie is convenient.

But the Venezuelans were treated exactly as the first time around, coerced into signing papers affirming that they were in Tren de Aragua, and told repeatedly that they were about to be sent to CECOT.

Seems like their lawyers, the ACLU, and the Supreme Court believed it.
