More Deportations to CECOT?!?

I have Venezuelans friends and contacts who have been desperate since last night. One of the moms in the circle of families caught up in this nightmare posted this TikTok video. The sound is terrible and it is hard to understand but the gist is that a new set of Venezuelans who have been detained in various places have been sent to Texas. He says they were forced to sign a paper saying they were members of Tren de Aragua and that they are being told that they are being deported but not where. He is terrified. The families are terrified.

I have no idea if this man has been arrested in his life or if he came legally or illegally. All I know is that I don't want to be a part of this: sending people to a concentration camp in El Salvador with NO DUE PROCESS.

When did the US become a monster?! Why are we letting Trump make a mockery of the Supreme Court, trample the Constitution, and spit on the very notion of human rights?! Why isn't Congress doing anything??!!

The bolded tracks with other accounts of recent deportees. It looks like the government is coercing people into signing statements that they are TdA members. Given how half-assed the government's attempts are to determine gang membership (many were sent just because they had tattoos, like the gay makeup artist and the guy with the autism awareness tattoo), one has to really question the accuracy and legality of the documents these men are signing.

A group of Venezuelan women that were erroneously flown with a larger group of men to El Salvador to be taken to the CECOT prison and flown right back when they dumbasses in charge discovered that the prison doesn't take women, reported the following:

"While on the plane the government officials were asking the men to sign a document and they didn't want to," wrote the woman, known as S.Z.F.R. "The government officials were pushing them to sign the documents and threatening them. I heard them discussing the documents and they were about the men admitting they were members of TdA."

There are forms of relief for people who crossed without documentation or asking for asylum at a border crossing point. Also, congress could fix that through immigration reform, but Trump blocked them from doing so and there’s no way it will happen now.
