Also, don't let the existence of a wait list at any school deter you. The wait list is not a first in line sort of tool; they may take your kid over kids already in the wait pool. |
6-12 also, St.Anselm's has been known to take a boy who is a good fit even after the admissions cycle is done. |
Parents in the DMV are. With reserves, most schools can weather a few down years. |
Field 11th grade class is smaller class size compared to other grades. Don’t know if that is by choice or whether they would be willing to add for senior year. Probably worth a call. |
There are some great schools in the PVAC. Field and Burke might be the most similar in terms of vibe, but WIS or St. Anselm's Abbey could be a good option depending on the learner. They probably skew more traditional, particularly St. Anselm's, but both have good academic reputations, strong communities, and a sense of long term stability. |
SSFS closing is going to be like Christmas for some of the local prog privates, esp the ones with smaller high schools. They're dumping a lot of kids whose parents are used to paying sizeable tuition onto the market. |
Sheridan has a strong endowment. I think K8s more generally tend to have a few spots as some seem to prefer the certainty of a k12. Sheridan is a wonderful school with tremendous outplacement to high school. |
Hard pass on Anselms. |
+1. Absolutely!!! |
I am so sorry to hear about SSFS. I just spoke to an admission counselor at Friends School of Baltimore. They are accepting applications from Sandy Spring families with a shortened admission process. |
I hear the Lab School is too! |
Lab School is for students with learning disabilities-especially language based ones like dyslexia. |
Try Landon, Holton, SR also they may have space. |
Yes and students who attend Sandy Springs may need a school like LAB too! Thanks! |
Only goes through eighth but it's a good school. |
