Why do people want to fire the principal of B-CC?

Are the violence cover ups ordered by mcps or the admins? We teachers need to know the rules both written and unwritten. It's the only way to play the game.

I don't think the coverup culture originates with admin, I think they're just ordered to comply with the coverups. But that is just a random guess as a parent.

It could be that MCAAP is the one behind the coverup culture and MCPS is just bending to MCAAP's will. It's really hard to pinpoint the source of this toxic game, but it has a powerful hold on the system.

Admin and central. 💯 I’ve been told I’m not allowed to call the police. I hate this district so much in regard to their insidious nature of letting things go and go and go until someone gets hurt and then they HAVE to make a public statement. And now we have one idiot admin on record admitting he fabricated it to throw a teacher under the bus. This is just one. I know many do this. All of them are chicken s**ts and need to be demoted or fired. It’s putting children and staff at risk. Every. Single. Day.

Not surprised to see a comment like this here. Sorry central office cronie. Do your job and rein your a**hoke admins in. I’ll call the police if I want to.

And that's why students do not trust anyone inside their schools. They call their parents if they have a good relationship with their parents to tell them what's going on and parents are having to call police. F shameful.

Yup. Again, the biggest problem in MCPS is the complete breakdown of trust.

There's a gap in trust between:

- Teachers and Admin
- Schools and Central Office
- MCPS and the BOE
- MCPS and Parents
- MCPS and Staff
- MCPS and County and State Government
- MCPS and the Media

Well Dr. Mooney just sent out his letter of resignation, so we'll see what happens...

It was the central office that was found liable not the principal— the principal was just doing what the office told him to do so I don’t know why you’d assume he is leaving unless he’s sick of the parent community

As a parent in the community, *I* am sick of the community. I don’t blame him for leaving. Parents expect private school treatment with public school numbers.

Woohoo! Mooney has resigned.

He's a very nice person who should have stuck to his old teaching job and never have had the running of a school. I hope he takes care of his health and gets some rest, and that BCC gets a smarter Principal who can organize the school a whole lot better.

For example, course registration is a mess: there is no follow-up from year to year of which students are likely to enroll in which courses, as there should be (other schools can do that). Discipline has also been very hit or miss there past few years.

Wow!! And Mr. Goodwin will be the interim principal. Excellent choice. He is the only effective, dedicated person we've dealt with at BCC. Very pleased with that choice. I hope he becomes the actual principal.

He's going to be Assistant Principal at Einstein!!!

Wow. They really do shuffle their incompetents around.

Sorry, Einstein. As AP, I guess he'll do less damage. He's actually a decent person - just in over his head as Principal.

This all comes from the top down. That's why parents kept clamoring for his resignation -- he couldn't run the place.
