Why do people want to fire the principal of B-CC?

Woohoo! Mooney has resigned.

He's a very nice person who should have stuck to his old teaching job and never have had the running of a school. I hope he takes care of his health and gets some rest, and that BCC gets a smarter Principal who can organize the school a whole lot better.

For example, course registration is a mess: there is no follow-up from year to year of which students are likely to enroll in which courses, as there should be (other schools can do that). Discipline has also been very hit or miss there past few years.

Why is it woohoo?
He led for 6 years didn't he? That's like 60 years when you are a leader of a high school in these times. No one can win.

Because I have a kid at BCC, I was afraid he'd stay longer, and I am relieved he's gone. Kids only stay in high school for 4 years.

Separately, you don't seem too bright.

Admin and central. 💯 I’ve been told I’m not allowed to call the police. I hate this district so much in regard to their insidious nature of letting things go and go and go until someone gets hurt and then they HAVE to make a public statement. And now we have one idiot admin on record admitting he fabricated it to throw a teacher under the bus. This is just one. I know many do this. All of them are chicken s**ts and need to be demoted or fired. It’s putting children and staff at risk. Every. Single. Day.

BS.

Not surprised to see a comment like this here. Sorry central office cronie. Do your job and rein your a**hoke admins in. I’ll call the police if I want to.

As I said, you need help and you just proved it.

Can you stop being a weirdo? I. Will. Call. I will call anytime if anyone is not safe and admin do not follow through. Myself, staff, or my students will not be threatened. Back off Betty.

See DCUM? This is what we have to deal with as teachers. Why anyone should have to feel like this at their place of employment is really the question. Not chastising and insinuating a teacher has a mental health issue. Gaslighting 101 must be a required course for CO.

Who is Damascus getting?

He was at another school this year. Damascus has a pretty good principal right now. I’d say things are much better than they were with Yates (as a parent)

The decision of his resignation is not surprising given how many times that one high school has been in the news. They actually kept him on after various incidents which shows CO either couldn't find anyone else to take the job as they shuffled around other Admin to schools needing cleanup (e.g. Damascus) 2. no one new-ish wanted to lead that school. Maybe they didn't want Adamson had they let Mooney go earlier. Adamson was around during Engler incident then they moved her to Kennedy. They also moved Nelson from BCC to AP at Wootton. A few others from BCC went to lead middle schools or elsewhere. They do seem to move their Admin around. What do they do with CO staff?
