Seems like he was being effective at his job before the accusations. Accusations are just that until the facts are revealed and a decision is made. The decision has been made based on the facts. Time to allow him to move on.

Actually he wasn’t very effective or well liked so this video and the charges associated with it were not surprising to many in mcps. I’m a teacher who used to work underneath him and know many others who found him rude, arrogant, short tempered and sexually aggressive toward female staff members

This is the thing. It’s not just the incident in the video. He was an administrator in another school in the same HS classroom cluster/general neighborhood as RCV and many who interacted with him there do NOT speak favorably of him. Definitely seems like a case of MCPS just moving around the problem.

While he sometimes confronted teachers about how they were teaching and got pushback he never was sexually inappropriate with anyone. This allegation that is being made is truly unfounded and libel. I was very involved in both schools and there were no reports about that ever made.

He didn’t always handle every situation best but his intentions I believe were always good. There were staff who wanted to be left alone and not consider his feedback and they became very defensive and confrontational.

I think it is sad that someone who went through due process and the courts and was cleared to return isn’t being given a fair chance to do his job that he’s devoted his life to doing.

Because there are just too many red flags here. And when you’re dealing with a job like an elementary school administrator, you have to err on the side of caution. Like it or not, he’s got baggage that will impact his ability to do his job well. Even you note that he hasn’t handled situations appropriately. There are enough people, staff and parents, that are questioning his performance. It’s a job that requires a greater level of trust than a lot of other positions. MCPS should just put him in a central office position.

But MCPS cares more about the adults than the kids

That's true with administrators in general. And it's not unique to schools. It is human nature to complain about your boss.

This really sounds like an employee that has an axe to grind against a former boss.

Even if it’s not true?

The video. Speaks for itself

The video wasn't even enough to convince the judge to continue the trial. Did you see a video different from the judge's (genuinely asking)?

Where's the video? Movo judges suck. Need to see it for myself

Mr. Winter was my principal for 4 years at Barnsley. I’m now in college. I have to admit I was a kid that spent a lot of time with him due to my behavior. I sometimes gave him a tough time but he took time to help me. He cared about me even when one of my teachers didn’t. He helped me make better choices and he was always kind even when I made repeated bad choices. He helped me so much and I just don’t think it’s right that people are saying such bad things about him. What’s being said is not the principal my friends and I knew. If Mr. Winter didn’t give me repeated chances I’m not sure where I would be today and I think we should give him a chance since he was found not guilty and cleared to return. IMHO he deserves it!

But are you still able to walk after he broke your foot so many times?

Not even close. I’ve never met the guy. I’m actually an administrator in another jurisdiction and understand what it takes to do the job. If you don’t have the trust of the community, you’re dead in the water. Unfortunately, he’s always going to have someone wondering when he’s going to blow up. They’re going to question every move he makes with a student. He’s going to struggle under that pressure. It’s not fair to him or the community. Again, put him in a central office position for at least a year or two. Then maybe he can return to a school-based position.

+1
Mcps is making a huge mistake putting him in another elementary school after all that has transpired. For his sake and the community at RCV they should move him to central

Oh, in that case we should definitely go with the poster that knows nothing about the person or the case, and who isn't even in our school district. That makes a ton of sense and doesn't scream an irrational grudge at all.

What does the current RCV Principal have to say about this?

Actually it’s a quite measured response. What’s irrational is this blind allegiance you’re clinging to in post after post. Anyone posting something negative about him has to be a disgruntled employee.

What’s getting in the way of you seeing that this isn’t the position for him right now? He’s damaged goods as far as being a school administrator. You may not think that’s fair, and that’s okay. But it is the reality of the situation.

+1 the school community clearly doesn’t want him there. No other school will want him at their school either. There is a stain on his name whether his supporters like it or not. Mcps should stop this stress for all involved and put him in central office
