Does weight loss medication take the joy of eating away?

To the contrary. I enjoy food more than ever before on Zepbound. Before it, I filled up with so much processed crap food. On it, I am enjoying a wonderful variety of real food and really savoring it.

My kids are all skinny and I'm always trying to feed them caloric things. I make them French toast often and before Zep, I would war with myself about not having any. This morning, I enjoyed a delicious, buttery slice of French toast with Maple syrup and a side of fruit. Yum. It was fabulous. I am still pleasantly full from this breakfast five hours later.

I'll have some Mongolian beef over rice with broccoli later today. The weight has been melting off and I don't feel deprived at all. I feel reborn! It is AWESOME!

I was already doing a lot right though – counting macros, working out daily, eating lots of protein and low calories, and lots of fiber, and basically covering as much of the basis as I could. Something was up with me and I needed a boost. I think I will be OK going off of it but if I’m not, I’m OK with staying on a long-term dose. To be honest, I was headed toward Diabetes otherwise and possibly statins and other medication so this one at least has a lot of positive side effects at the lowest doses. Also thank you for cheering me on, my goal is also to keep the weight off permanently and hopefully be med free!!!

I too had no side effects… until my dose was increased to 1mg

I get a little nausea within a couple hours of the shot. I go to the gym in the morning and force in a protein shake and some Greek yogurt, then don’t eat until dinner. I think I enjoy dinner more now because I’m not snacking all day. Portions are smaller, DH and I often split things, but I certainly haven’t lost the enjoyment. My alcohol intake has greatly decreased because I’m just not interested. I have zero desire to go drink 6 beers, but I do still have interest in a craft cocktail or two.

OP here. I’m down 10llbs and see it in my face ( doesn’t look so puffy-looks better- definitely not the hollow weight loss look). It’s refreshing to see my face in mirror- haven’t seen this face shape in 25 years😆. My jeans are considerably looser in the waste and it feels good. Still love food but just not so much. I’m losing slowly which is probably a good thing.
