Eleanor Holmes Norton succession plan?

Eleanor Holmes Norton is shockingly, horrifically, senile.

In no way, shape, or form is she still capable of representing the interests of the people of the District of Columbia.

This is a serious emergency.

Let the forcing out attempts commence

Does Brazille need a grift?

Apparently Brazile is one of Norton’s close longtime friends and it’s embarrassing enough that Norton hasn’t retired that she had to publish it.

She was her Chief of Staff for a really long time.

She’s like an auntie figure to Brazile.

She's actually not.

No she is. She was even like that 6 years ago when I met with her one-on-one for my kid to receive an award from her.

Even he mentioned that she seemed like she was in outer space.

If she runs, she will win. There are at least 4-5 candidates including her which means the incumbent wins.

Pinto will be joining this crowded race.

Some people pretend or think this seat is actually meaningful or impactful. It’s not. Doesn’t matter who occupies it.

You do get paid though and a stipend for a staff.

It matters. This person sits on committees and can be a strong voice against the opposition. A good candidate could be good for the Dem brand. Have you seen the new shadow Senator? He’s amazing and is building strong relationships with Senators who have power. DC needs a strong advocate for statehood because it WILL happen.

New? One has held the office since 1997, the other since 2007. Do you know their names?

No one in Congress cares about DC unless it can be used to make or score political points. You wildly overestimate the influence (both current and potential) the non-voting DC Delegate has and these shadow senators have on Capitol Hill. And I hope you have other hopes and dreams in life because DC statehood ain’t happening for a very long time of ever.

It seems you don't know their names. Ankit Jain was elected last year, replacing Michael Brown (aka White Mike), who was elected in 2007

We have ranked choice voting now. That's going to change things. I'm optimistic that Holmes Norton is on the way out.

Will ranked choice voting apply for federal elections as well?
