What do we tell our sons?

Saying the same to my daughter, too.

I think it's great to have kids and raise a family if you want to. I would definitely advise my daughters to carry their pregnancies in a blue state. But they already understand that

And obviously I would tell my sons to have their partners carry their pregnancies and birth their children in a state without an abortion ban and with the best medical care available for pregnant women. Pregnancy is dangerous. It always has been. Obviously modern medicine has mitigated a lot of the dangers but not as much in abortion ban states.

But Stormy Daniels? No problem. Grab em by the pussy? No problem. 3 wives? No problem.

Trump will go down and one of the greatest politicians and leaders of all time. And just like the rest of them, he has many moral and character flaws. Trump was elected for his command and leadership- that’s it. The rest is largely irrelevant.

How do you explain his debate performance?. He crumbled apart like a child. There was no command or leadership there. We are really in trouble with this guy in charge.

He's already been POTUS for 4 years. Stop your ridiculous ranting.

It is you who is lying, PP.

Tell the truth. They did not say education isn’t important.

President Trump and VPOTUS Vance have rightly criticized the CURRENT state of the Ivy League institutions they attended.

For example: the arguably number one university in the U.S.A., Harvard, was led by President Gay, who:

- accumulated a pathetically scant eight published, peer-reviewed papers,
- her eight papers were on the dividing topic of “DIE” - diversity
- most of them were plagiarized

Lets not try to say they brought honor to those institutions themselves or that Trump even had the grades for it. The people they support are definitely against higher education and they support them in this stance and they are actively trying to dismantle education in the US at all levels.

You responded with even more lies.

Who terminated the gifted and talented programs in NYC and Seattle?

- progressives

Who is intentionally “dumbing-down” the public education in MoCo and FCPS?

- progressives

Who opposes minimum standards for public school teachers?

- progressives, who are addicted to teachers’ union money

Who came up with and backed the failed Lucy Calkins elementary reading curriculum?

- progressives, primarily at progressive Columbia university and other progressive institutions

Who created Common Core with the specific, stated, intention of “fighting unearned white privilege?”

- progressives

Who has lead the movement to ban homework, alleging it is “racially inequitable?”

- progressives.

The party who is anti-education in the USA is unfortunately, the democratic party, lead currently by their progressive wing.

The obvious answer for the future of the Democratic Party is to expel the progressives over to the Green Party, and return to sanity. But right now, today, the democrats are the opposite of “ the education party.”

You know, I generally agree with what you've said. Can you just stop trying to defund public education through voucher programs and the book banning stuff? If you did, you'd get this Democrat who is seriously questioning the Democrat Party on board.

How do you explain that debate performance? It was really concerning. It was terrible.

We have talked a LOT about politics in our household the past 2 years. We have a 12 and 10 year old (DS/DD) who are both very inquisitive and watch the news with us. They also watch IG stories with me and we talk about how different channels talk about topics very differently. I have a pretty varied news feed so it has worked out well.
I tell him what i tell my daughter. You have to know what you stand for so you will know what you will stand for.
Even if you are stating facts, not everyone will believe you. You need to see how you can meet them where they are at. Most people are driven by money, health, morals and fear. Fear is the biggest motivator we have found, but that doesn't mean it should be used. Change takes time but NO side who has ever sought to limit the rights and freedoms of others has ever been on the right side of history. Choose your side wisely.

That was scary. We are stuck with him now but this is not a good situation.

I agree with the tell your kids to keep their nose to the grindstone get a good education and have as many options as possible. Not sure which way this is going to go but you better be ready for this to be extremely challenging.

My sons know all of Trump's ills and did not vote for him. They are ready to join the fight. I'm very proud of the messages I've seen them send out to their close friends who are feeling very vulnerable right now.

I think PP is saying her kids are ready to join some fascist terrorist group to fight the democratically-elected POTUS.

Discourage them, OP, please. Not cool.

Anonymous wrote:What did your parents tell their sons when Bill Clinton had sex with a 21 year old intern in the white house, lied about it under oath, and was left to complete his term?

What did they tell them when Hillary Clinton was discussing bringing young men committing crimes in New York "to heel"?

What did they tell them when "Three Strikes" resulted in young men spending 25 years in prison when their third strike/ offense was stealing food?

I don't even know the last two. They hardly made the news and the third one I don't see related to the presidency.

On the first one OMG I heard about how awful Clinton was for that for a good 20 years from the Trumper in my family and how he brought down the morality of the white house. What I feel is different there is that Clinton wasn't talking openly about this to where you kept having to tell a child these werent beliefs to follow and it really was a setup by the right so the right with Ken Starr seemed just as slimy to me even as a young adult. And it happened in office not before and he was impeached because of it. So it wasn't like you had to say to a child he got away with this. There were consequences. With Trump people simply do not care about his misdeeds and write them off even before electing him. Just the other day I heard him talk about merging up with some potties after a speech. He just does it with abandon now and those same people who were after Clinton totally do not care now. Total hypocrites.

He is reading the room. People don't care because they are tired of having to filter through politics to understand what a politician is claiming they can offer.

Whatever. I totally lost respect for my republican family member after going on decades long tirade about Clinton's immorality only to ignore Trump's immorality and then later go off on Pelosi as evil only to find out that she didn't care one whit about how Pelosi only got her job after a decades long pedophile Dennis Hastert had to step down. How often do you hear about him disgracing the office? It turned me against any of her fake morality issues from then on. Now of course she thinks the democrats are the house of pedophiles despite Trump hanging with Epstein and believed that stupid Christian movie that came out on catching predators without looking up the truth on it all the while never speaking up about the ones of her political party or church. Hypocrites. It's just hating like hating a team. There is no actual morality behind these things. It's just evil actually and narcissistic trying to make others out to be evil who don't have the same labels as themselves. It's really just all about themselves. Not policy. Not morals. I tell my son some people want a label to make themselves look moral and American and make others look bad but its better to act moral and live by American values yourself.

American Evangelical Christianity has reduced itself to a partisan political party.

+100

Which is why Democrats need to pivot HARD to become the party that separates church and state. Actively pursue policies with this agenda - no more tax breaks for religious orgs, no more Catholic SC, no more religion in our politics. Many people who voted for Trump are not religious at all and are deeply uncomfortable with the level of power that radicalized hardright Protestants and Catholics have in his next Administration.

This is by far the biggest potential cleavage within Trump's motley crew that can be exploited. This country's electorate is rapidly rejecting religion in their personal lives.

Tax breaks for religious organizations is a part of separation of church and state; also they are non-profit entities, none of which are taxed. (They are taxed on income producing activities like sales.) Democrats are also religious. You have to quit lumping all religions on the right. Not even all Catholics or Protestants are far right. If you move that radically left, you will lose almost everyone.

Perfect. This is the environment. They have to have skills to deal with a lot of divisiveness hostility anger dismissiveness. Learn how to handle it and not let it impede progress.

He changes literally nothing. That's the whole point. He wants to "make America great again" by returning to the way things have always been.

Dream on. It's been a long ugly fight for decades for certain groups to get some basic rights. An election setback does not interfere with that long long battle.

I don't know why you felt the need to lead with a nasty "dream on" and then agree with my point in full, but okay.

Maybe touch grass though? You seem a little... tightly wound.
