Only Harris/Walz signs, so how did trump win?

I am talking not just about here in Fairfax; I have friends in Silver Spring, and even in Baltimore.

Virtually no trump signs at all. Like, none.

How is this possible?

Putin stole the election again.

Only possibility I can think of.

Democrats lost ground everywhere, including in blue states. That's how he won the popular vote.

Let's take Montgomery County. Ground Zero for anti-Trump sentiment. And yet Trump on the surface performed better than in 2020. I really thought Harris would break 80% here, but she only got about 74% and Biden got 79%.

But Trump didn't increase his number of votes. Democrats stayed home. Which surprised me also - again we're talking about Montgomery County - but between the far left being pissed about Gaza, and the lower middle class feeling burned by lackluster economic perspectives, they didn't deliver the votes the Democrats expected. I'm sure Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Takoma Park turned out as well as ever. But I bet Gaithersburg and Germantown and Wheaton had much lower turnout numbers.

Mistake #1 was letting a criminal onto a ballot (another right progressives hold dear). Once there, history tells us, he would have won easily. The only think I can’t figure out is is it’s 1933 or 1939 all over again

+1
I’ve had friends say to me that they could never be friends with a Trump voter.
But since I enjoy the friendship and don’t feel that way myself, I take that as my cue to keep my vote to myself.

That is gross. I have hardcore Trump fan family members and it’s no issue to me because I love them and who they vote for doesn’t affect that. But lying about something as basic as political preferences to your supposed close friends is gross! If I found out a friend voted Trump, I’d keep them as a friend but if found out they lied, I’d end the friendship because I don’t want to be friends with a liar and a coward.

(Also on a practical note, why do you want to be friends with people you cannot be yourself with?)

Weird response.
It’s none of your business who people vote for. And presumptive to ask.
My friend did not ask me who I voted for she just made the statement and I responded that politics was not a litmus test for me….and then offered her another glass of wine.
I don’t owe her or anyone information about my vote.
I am friends with people who are kind, compassionate, share interests in common with me, and whom I enjoy being around. Politics is not something I have ever discussed with my friends.
I understand that it’s like a religion or way of life for some to insert political viewpoints into many discussions, but I find there is plenty to talk about and am very much “myself”
For the record though, I suspect that even if you did not know anything about my politics, we would not be friends because I am typically not drawn to be around people who lack the etiquette to refrain from name calling people with whom they disagree.

The answer is probably on Hunter Biden’s laptop. If only those 51 intelligence officials hadn’t assured us that this was Russian disinformation, we might have been able to stop him.

Are t your worried that she can’t get an abortion in Pennsylvania.

Yeah seems like a dangerous place if you can’t even assure your young college daughter that she can murder *her* daughters or sons. Better rethink.

Because of the demonization of trump supporters in this area, many don’t want to be harassed and stay silent.

Biden would have done better because he’s whites and a man. The poor don’t want a brown woman.

Will you pledge to donate all your unearned tax savings to the poor? Put up or shut up.

Because people do not want to vote for a woman.

Not everyone who voted for Trump is a flag-waving, lawn-sign-displaying, rally-attending true believer. Plenty of people were simply aggravated with the status-quo and the establishment.

Democrats need to come to terms with the fact that they have lost the support of working class and many middle class voters, and had they taken a pulse-check in the form of a primary this time around they probably would have learned this.

Instead, much like 2016, they basically annointed a candidate who represented no significant change from the status quo. Take a look at the map of Bernie Support overlayed with this election is eye-opening. Many of those folks got the message that the DNC wasn't interested in them and moved to the next alternative that promised to throw a wrench into the system.

'win' isn't even close enough of a descriptor for Tuesday.

Use words like: destroyed, obliterated, embarrassed, left in the dust, shellacked, humiliated...
