Just for context, my wife is from NY, and has hated Trump with a passion, and made our marriage difficult during his administration. I'm not a fan of Trump, but he is the right person for this time.

And my wife voted for Trump this round, she looked around and saw how bad things are going in the US under the Biden administration. She still hates him, but is mature enough to understand the destructive effect of progressive policies.

I wonder how many men have any idea HOW personal rape and sexual assault is for many of us women. We’ve either been through it or watched the aftermath of a loved one’s experience. When the access Hollywood tape came out I truly thought that would be a bright line. But it wasn’t at all. People made false equivalencies like all demoncrats cheat on their wives, as if cheating and assaulting people so regularly you bragged about it to a stranger are the same thing. It has fundamentally changed how I think about some people. Nothing is a bright line, apparently.

When my wife and I were dating it was very noticeable were were on opposite sides with our politics. I lean right and she leans left. Thought it would be fine but it’s been an issue all through our marriage. She hasn’t spoken to not spoken to me since I confirmed who I voted for.

When were you dating? If you leaned right say 20 years ago...you believed in free trade (tariffs would be what communist/socialist countries use), sensible immigration/recognize that immigrants actually increase GDP and we actually have more jobs than people, need to contain Russia (although 20 years ago there was some hope Russia might become more Westernized), a balanced budget/limited government spending, etc.

Let's just say that is not today's Republican Party, and I doubt your wife was particularly upset about different opinions about free trade and marginal tax rates.

I *almost* got her on the Trump train but close enough.

Her most important issues are different than mine, but I can say that the idea every Democrat woman in America is frothing at the mouth for more abortion was not accurate.
