Oh come on I think the phones didn't work - just like they dont work after a big storm - way too many people trying to use it at the same time. Try using your cell phone after a storm or blizzard. The DOD didn't do anything. |
Great story |
Listening to Howard Stern in the car radio. He thought it was a small plane at first. |
Same. Was driving across the old WW bridge to my job in the District. |
Middle school here in the DMV. Kids were crying thinking their parents were dead. Also I lived near a CIA building tucked away in the burbs and the security guards outside had massive machine guns afterwards, for at least a few years. Must’ve been National Guard i don’t know.
I also remember the immense patriotism that we all felt for years after and I miss that. American flags everywhere all the time |
We are out of town. DH spent the day trying to contact some of his employees that were flying that day. They were some of the thousands who spent a few days in Newfoundland.
We flew home the first day air traffic was allowed. I can remember clutching my phone in my hand the entire trip. |
They had some of them giant machineguns out in front of the cia HQ for uh while to. |
Trump stole $4 mil from ny 9/11 first responders
Support that pos you are unamerican to the core Then he brought loomer what a disgusting human Maga unamerican Then he signed the US flag a is disgrace of epic proportions |
I worked at a military research lab. We suddenly had armed military personnel at the front gate and vehicle inspections on entry. I believe they were Marines with drop-leg holsters. |
I had the same thought! |
Listening to Z100 Z Morning Zoo and the initial report, like Stern, was a small plane. I had just pulled into work when they were talking about it. Was in a work training when we heard a 2nd plane had hit and I heard that something had happened in DC and "the Mall was on fire"
Everyone was talking about it so much, they stopped the training and we went back to our desks. I refreshed CNN over and over again and saw in horror as the towers came down. I tried to get in touch with my sister who was in college in DC, worried that more had been hit than just the Pentagon with talk of visible smoke. Finally got ahold of her and she was hysterical. Got ahold of my boyfriend at the time who was asleep and didn't know what had happened. His sister was also in DC so he desperately tried to get ahold of her then found out a friend was supposed to be at a building near the World Trade Center that morning - waited till that evening to find out he was ok. Remember everyone afterwards putting small American flags on their cars, the antennas and/or rear windshields. Flags were everywhere. |
DP but I frequently visited Long Island back then and had since I was a kid, taking the Throgs Neck Bridge. Always, since I was very young, I would look at the skyline and pick out the Empire State Building and Twin Towers. It was so awful and sad to drive over the bridge after that and not see the towers. |
And stupid drawn out wars. |
The foreign influence on Trump and the lunatics he hangs out with define everything about him. He’s never had an original “theory” in his life.
There is nothing funny about him hanging out with a 9/11 truther at a 9/11 memorial or spreading Nazi propaganda. |
Many of my friends died that day.
Iwasin Manhattan with a friend who lost his wife that day. I will never forgive Maga ever Donald Trump brought a 9/11 conspiracy theorist (Laura Loomer) to a 9/11 memorial ceremony today as a guest. |
