I was in the area of 9/11 today for the first time on the anniversary.

There was a parade at dusk and it was very moving to see the memorial in person with so many flowers and others paying their respects.

The reality is the US jumped into two wars in the middle east, killed more than twice as many US servicemembers as people died in th 9/11 attacks. Both wars were utter failures. The US willingly eroded its rights after 9/11.

The reality is the legacy of 9/11 is one where the US failed. And that makes it all the worse.
