Another liberal who loves diversity! oh, wait...

I do love diversity. Does that include this extremely weird and backwards person? Nope.

What's with the "weird" tagline lately? I don't understand why folks decided "weird" is an insult, especially coming from a group that celebrates diversity. I don't get it.

It isn’t surprising you don’t get it.

It was a devastating observation that succinctly describes the behavior of MAGA over the last decade. It’s sort of the equivalent to the “have you no sense of decency” show-stopper that ended McCarthyism.

Since the “weird” label stuck, I have noticed most Trump supporters no longer fly their flags and other over-the-top behavior. It’s clearly made them self-conscious and ashamed. Which is a good thing.

It was, simply put, a devastating observation.

I've always been fairly sure they lack the capacity to feel shame

Maybe it’s just embarrassment and self-consciousness. Whatever it is, it was incredibly effective.

I agree, off, miserable and maladjusted might work better. Whatever you would use to describe behaviors that seek to hurt instead of help while eschewing happiness in lieu of mandates you receive from billionaires. Throw in being really awkward with the common man while screwing them over and trying to gain their votes.

This BS about "intolerant liberals" has really got to stop.

Refusing to support and welcome a person who has been actively hostile to many Americans (women, immigrants, etc.) is in no way the same as the active hostility displayed by that person. JD Vance might be a father and husband, but he is also a conservative Republican who is intolerant of many, many people. Not welcoming him into an inclusive community only counts as "intolerance" if you're already a bigot. As for his wife and kids, she married him and as a woman of color supports him. She shouldn't be welcome either. It's certainly too bad if their kids feel unwelcome in the neighborhood, but given that the policies JD Vance wants to enact separate other children from their families, some rich kids feeling a little sad doesn't really compare.

Consequences have actions. Being a proud bigot will absolutely result in people not wanting to hang out with you. Be less of a bigot, or move where the other bigots live. Problem solved.

"Hate has no home here."

The good ol' "It's hypocritical to hate people who peddle hatred" chestnut.

Hatred being defined as "things I don't like."

+1.

Thew only hatred being peddled is by the ladies on Next Door tryinh to establish a shunning campaign. They even suggested a boycot of Holy Cow because they fed Youngkin. These people are seething with anger.

That’s not even close to the only hatred but Fox has normalized bigotry for you so I’m not surprised you don’t see it.

So you're saying that Republicans and Trump supporters are purveyors of hate?

So when you take a “woman of color” and add “republican supporter”, you cancel out the race points? I need to better understand your math formula.

I'm ok with weird. People who look at a nice photo of a daughter hugging her father, and then post "If this woman becomes the first daughter, we're f***ed as a country. Just look at her. This cannot become a role model to young woman" (in addition to super-weird stuff about hobbits that I'm not going to retype here) are weird. And not in a good way.

Registries are a republican idea and there are groups that do that. Dems would never make a group to canvas neighborhoods and jot down addresses that display signs for other parties. They do that here and without shame, it's disgusting and not behavior I want to see in my country.

Don't be obtuse. The Republican party is no friend to people of color, no matter how much y'all try to pretend otherwise.

Refusing to tolerate the intolerance of others is not intolerance. It's conscience. There isn't any math involved, except for pedants like you.

Normal republicans are fine. That’s not what we are talking about here. Though you Trumpers have chased most of the normal ones out of the party in any event.

I understand Democrats support a gun registry, but I guess that's different.

The park is really popular with tots and little ones - I thought he was pro-family, or is it just a farce? Or maybe he wants to hang out with the park benches for some alone time at night?

It is because the party of joy, tolerance and hate-has-no-home are anything but.

Why are they terrorizing this family? Especially the wife and children. WTF.

Who is terrorizing the family?

No one, the Vance defenders are just massive snowflakes.

DP - oh, they invented cancel culture?
