I think people are just excited.

It's not our fault if she sat out some elections.

GHWB 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992
Clinton: 1992, 1996, 2016
W: 2000, 2004
Biden: 2008, 2012, 2020

What elections did she sit out? She would have been 18 in 1978, so her first presidential election was 1980.

Kamala Harris+DNC raised $81 million in 24 hours.

Of the 888,000 donors who gave to Kamala Harris in the last 24 hours, *60%* made their *first* contribution.

That's roughly *532,800* Americans who went out of their way to donate to Kamala's campaign.

We're gonna crush the fascists. Be scared, be very scared.

"Democracy" is being saved. This is the type of enthusiasm needed to save us all from that FOO (felonorangeoldie)!!!

Forgot the L: loser. it should be FOOL

Why didn’t Joe wear a mask? Nice caring people also do that when they have COVID . They don’t risk spreading it to others

In 2016 they voted for Trump with the belief that he would surround himself with strong advisers to whom he would listen. They turned into Never Trumpers. In 2020 they voted for Biden because they don’t want Trump. Yesterday the wife shared with me the same history and said she was worried Trump was ongoing to win but she and her husband will definitely be voting for Harris.

I know my friends who are vote blue no matter who.

inflation, immigration crisis and their business failing because of Biden's covid policies was enough for them.

They think Harris is a twit. There is no way they will vote Blue again as long as she's the nominee.

They liked Trump's populist polices as they're blue collar democrats. They know the democrat party has left them in favor of rich Wall St elites.

Ooh wait till you see who is backing the Republicans

There is nothing "grassroots" about this.

People are really good at lying to themselves. It's hope and desperation.

$81 million in donations in less than 24 hours given in sums smaller than $200 is certainly grassroots.

Mmmhmm. We'll see.

See what? That's a huge number. Bigger than anything Trump has done in a 24 hour period.

Do you always get excited about these silly ephemeral mirages? This is a highly coordinated rollout by insiders and Democratic political elites. In case you haven't noticed already, people are sick of elites in this country. The same people that told us Biden was healthy had vibrant are now trying to fool everything into believing that Kamala is some political savant, like we didn't see the calamitous race in 2020 where her candidacy got skewered by Tulis Gabbard of all people. She is not that girl, not matter how much you try to lie t yourself.

You think almost 900,000 small money donors were all elites? How many elites do you think this country has? At some point, you plus a million of your buddies aren’t that elite. You become ordinary people.

The point is, it has to translate to votes! At one point in the 2020 race Kamala was the favorite and was beating everything in fundraising. It didn't translate. It doesn't translate with her. That is what is ephemeral. Given what has transpired over the last month, this sort of bump would have happened with anyone that wasn't Joe Biden. What you are seeing now is collective sight of relief, combined with grasping for hope/desperation to beat Trump. It's not a Kamala thing; don't be fooled.

No she wasn't beating anyone in fundraising at any point.

+1. And that was a problem. People setting furnishing records don’t drop out before the race really starts.

It shows the enthusiasm is there. Now it’s on Harris to keep it going.

She and Bernie were the leading Democrats in 2019. Bernie was the outsider that big money was not going to back, Kamala had the inside track. She fumbled.

But her laugh. It’s so off-putting. Plus she just doesn’t look or sound like a President. There’s astroturfed “excitement” right now, but it’s going to fall away when they hear her laugh and think about her DEI career.

The media is desperate for a horse race, but it isn’t happening. SCOTUS won’t let her take any shortcuts to use the money, and her campaign will implode as people hear that silly laugh. People better realize Trump is going to have a mandate to clear out Democrats, so they better MAGA now.

The giggle and “doesn’t look or sound like a President”? That’s all you have? Doesn’t look like a President compared to who? Trump? 😆

1. She doesn’t need SCOTUS to tell her she can use the money.
2. She can laugh however she wants if she doesn’t appoint any insane SCOTUS justices.
3. No national abortion ban? Thank you Madam President for keeping this country safe to raise daughters in.

I’d love to have a woman president, but I don’t recall much from her 2020 campaign. She was my last choice out of all the other woman candidates, and I can tell you their positions.

She's not Trump.

That’s hardly enough.

But here's some more details:

- continuing the strictest border policies of any american president that Biden established
- continuing the massive economic success of Biden
- continuing to protect our friends and interests in Ukraine and Taiwan
- not disbanding NATO
- lower taxes for middle and lower class
- protecting a woman's right to choose

What else do you need to know? She DOES have a campaign website where you can see her positions.

But that makes her Biden 2.0. Risky.

Don’t voters “need to know.” I’m really tired of this vote Dem or else. It’s not a winning strategy and I’d really like the Dems to evolve and change.

That 60% figure is actually new registers to Act Blue, so not only new contributors, but people new to donating to democrats.

$81 million in 24 hours from small donors isn't an ephemeral mirage... it's more than half a million people.

But also, no one is saying she's a poltiical savant. They're saying she's not Donald Trump. She has the lowest bar in the world to get over.

Half a million people…..all in blue states.

888,000 donations > 500,000. By bigly. I know MaGA don’t math, but come on.

Also, I’m seeing lots of Tx and FL donations reported. If you have a state by state breakdown from a reliable source that shows otherwise, please post it.

Half million was referring to first time donations.

Yes, I have the breakdown.

And he's gone MIA since Biden dropped out—where is the guy, shouldn't he be making public appearances assuring people that his age is not a problem as it appeared to be at the debate?

Well he got shot and he is doing better. Biden couldn’t handle stairs.

Speaking of dementia Joe, where is he? All of a sudden he’s in Vegas and then rushed out?

Sources are saying he collapses in a restaurant. I’m thinking he’s in a coma or he’s out. And leaving us in the hands of Harris? Oh my that’s scary.

We knew this would happen. We knew that Harris was one stroke or one Parkinson’s attack from being POTUS. And now that’s what we have

He was very public and visible at Cape Henelopen State Park near his home, and he was on the call today with Harris. He is being responsible in not getting others infected with COVID.

I remember media reports last year saying Democrats were anxious about KH dragging down Biden on the ticket, and strongly suggesting he replace her with someone else. Very, very few people actually thought she was an asset to the campaign. And now the party line is that she’s a fantastic choice - for *president,* no less?

First Democrats lied about Biden’s diminishing health, now they’re pretending they always had full confidence in Harris. It’s really kind of funny, these revisionist histories that the left puts forth. And naturally, the usual gaslighters will accuse me of making this up or “reading/watching the wrong sources.” So here are my sources. Knock yourselves out.

You recently posted on X, formally Twitter, and I'm quoting - you were quoting from the regulations here. You said, if the candidate is not a candidate in the general election, all contributions made for the general election shall be either returned or refunded to the contributors or redesignated or reattributed as appropriate. So what does that mean? Can Harris use that money?

COOKSEY: Well, I think it's really complicated, is the short answer. I mean, we take a step back to consider the situation - this is really unprecedented in terms of modern political history, and certainly in terms of campaign finance law. We have a presidential nominee or a presumptive nominee dropping out just weeks before his party convention. And he's - what he's attempting to do is to give his entire committee, the cash and all the assets...

MARTIN: Yeah.

COOKSEY: ...Over to another person.

MARTIN: We get that. So can she use that money?

COOKSEY: Well, again, I think it's going to have to go through a process through the FEC. I think I expect there's going to be probably challenges to that at the agency and probably in the courts, as well.

MARTIN: So your colleague, the Democratic vice chair of the FEC, Ellen Weintraub, told us yesterday that candidates running for president and vice president share a campaign committee. Kamala Harris has always been listed as a candidate on this committee. Now, Weintraub didn't draw any conclusion from that, but, I mean, a lot of people are interpreting that to say that she has a legitimate claim to those funds.

COOKSEY: Yeah, I think some lawyers have reached that conclusion. I think other election law experts have actually reached the opposite conclusion in publications like The Wall Street Journal. And so I think everyone would agree, though, that this is completely unprecedented, and it raises a lot of novel questions.

https://nypost.com/2024/07/22/us-news/fec-chair-predicts-legal-challenges-if-kamala-harris-tries-to-access-bidens-war-chest/

This is all false. Harris is a trustee of Biden-Harris 2024. Biden removing himself does not limit Harris;s access to the money or infrastructure that has been established.

WRONG. The COURTS will decide. We’ll get an injunction out of Texas stopping ANY money being spent while this question is being adjudicated. The Fifth will affirm, SCOTUS will deny a stay and then finally decide in October that Harris can only use the money raised after the official papers were filed with the FEC.

Yeah, well, turns out she's got everybody excited. Who knew? Well, some people did, but Biden's team was pushing to keep it quiet.
