What they all see is that globalization under Clinton/Obama has hurt our working class which includes themselves. One is a black truck driver, some are into reiki, crystals, etc.

They also don’t like the far left demented ideology that there is no such thing as gender, among many things.

I dislike the far left disrespect of conservatives who make up half of the US, and disrespect of traditional families including parents who choose to stay at home to raise their own kids.

The bolded is not leftism, it's liberalism. The real issue is that Americans don't know the difference. Leftism is not about the culture war. It's about the economics of the working class.

These people fall into the right wing pipeline because the right wears "working class" as a costume, but in reality their policy stances are antiworker. Democrats aren't much better, and thus people find themselves without a political home, and they fall for populist figures like Donald Trump.

Most Americans agree on what we want to see policy-wise. The two main parties give those issues lipservice, but look at what they actually do, not what they say. They put on a show and pretend to be gridlock on issues concerning regular people, but always manage to cross the aisle when it comes to power grabs for themselves, and tax breaks and money give aways for their donors.

I am not sure how you can claim the bolded.

Dems support unions, support higher minimum wages, support safe working conditions, support affordable healthcare, support public education...I could go on, but the GOP doesn't support any of these things.

So the OP's post makes sense in that context.

The problem is that on social issues, the MAGA GOP is all about government intrusion - no gay marriage, no women's health care choices, dictating what books can be read, banning porn, dictating what messages a company can express (eg Disney) and so on.

The granola MAGA folks I know that fit the OPs description are also traditional Christian

wow - you are describing my friend! i was watching the anita hill movie once and she rolled her eyes and said she'd rather watch a movie on clarence thomas. anyway - the best way she explained it to me is that we believe in a lot of the same things, but she doesn't necessarily believe the government is the way to achieve them.

No, we (Trump supporters) love America and hate what you (the left) are trying to turn it into. And to op, I have a lot in common with your friend.

I am middle aged mom and have been on both sides of the political spectrum. I (unlike the left) have an open mind.

For someone who purports to love America, you seem to support a candidate who truly hates a huge portion of Americans.

And don't come back with Hillary's 'deplorable" thing because that has been totally mischaracterized if you actually read the full quote in context.

Mischaracterized? LOL

Squirm baby! There's not enough Mobil-1 in the world to lube your way outta that one.

Not the crunchy part, but the “MAGA is counterculture/hippie” theme is currently being embraced and pushed by the GOP. Vivek Ramaswammy just gave a speech encouraging college students to be countercultural hippies by supporting Trump and traditional marriage on campus.

Trump doesn’t hate Americans. Your party spews the most hatred. And I wasn’t going to bring up Hilary, but you’re right, she did call Trump supporters deplorable, I forgot about that. But nobody was worse than Obama with the hatred and division. That was when I left the Democratic Party. It’s hard to believe it’s gotten so much worse since then! No civility left in the Democratic Party.

That’s great. I don’t want my kids exposed to Kama sutra books in elementary school or male Disney princesses. Keep that confusion for the left

The right calls dems " evil" all day every but froths at the mouth at one deplorable comment from years ago. Trump retweets comments about "the only good dem is a dead dem" which is way worse. Point blank, you are ok with this?

-Evil dem, though thankfully not dead

Dems don’t support any of these things .
The federal minimum wage is still $7.25. They haven’t nationalized a thing that’s progressive in ages and they wonder why progressives are leaving the party . They leave it up to states. Obamacare is up to the states and it’s not single payer but a private insurance mandate. Again, government intruding in our lives but not making things easier.

Let’s not forget the promise of equal pay for women and maternity leave and uni child care . Dems skipped over that entirely to pass legislation about trans serving in the military and men are allowed to use the women’s bathroom.

Much like Obamacare, Obama was a total let down for progressives . He expanded the Bush tax cuts, kept Guantanamo open, and cracked down on whistleblowers and expanded the spying /surveillance state here in the U.S. . What’s the difference between a Democrat and Republican president? Not much anymore except for social issues like LGBT and abortion rights and those aren’t the standard bearer issues that most Americans care about but somehow the Dems ignore the economy to talk about social issues 24/7

Biden was the calm after the chaos after the Trump presidency, but no one expected him to have a second term. He screwed up by picking Harris as VP because she’s a weak lead at the top of the ticket. He shouldn’t be running this year, but there’s no suitable replacement that’s ready.

The general public is being fleeced by corporate interests. They want someone outside the mainstream. I wish it had been Bernie, but it’s not, it’s Trump. We’re living in Idiocracy in real life.

Warren should’ve been the candidate in 2020 . She was the happy medium between Hillary and Bernie in 2016, and she was the front runner originally in 2020 until Bidens campaign leaked stories about her lying about being Native American on a college application. Trump started calling her Pocahontas and Warren couldn’t recover from that. Biden was the author of the three strikes bill and should’ve had a tough primary in the season of BLM but he cut Warren off at the knees right when she and Bernie were picking up traction with black voters. Corporate donors did not want an Elizabeth Warren candidate for the Dem Party. Biden made Delaware the sanctuary state of predatory loans, credit card companies, and banking. He was their man, and so the DNC put everything in row to make him a candidate and he made a deal with Sen Clyburn for his endorsement in order to win SC and black politico endorsements /votes in return for a black VP. Given his problem with Me Too accusations, he decided to choose a woman and reluctantly chose Kamala.

All of this is accurate. I’m a Bernie/Warren/Katie Porter/squad actual progressive Democrat. The corporate centrists are whores and destroyed the party.

Much like the Reagan Democrats, the Trump Democrats are real. We are here and we are anti war and pro American labor not for cheap illegal migrant exploitation/labor or outsourcing . Donald Trump is a one man walking and talking labor Union and anti war activist for America and that’s just enough for some of us progressives to make him better than Biden or Hillary

LOL, rEaL. Wait till your organic strawberries cost $12 because there are no migrant workers. Wait till Trump adds more tariffs and you can’t afford basic necessities. And, wait till your husband is injured on the job because there are no safety measures because corps want you to keep buying, so they squeeze workers and safety measures. Think tainted Chinese baby formula. They can’t cut wages, so they use cardboard and fillers.

This sounds nice but grocery prices went up under Biden not Trump

Anonymous wrote:what proportion of the Democrat messaging this cycle is bashing Trump, as opposed to substance?

From reading DCUM the ratio is about 99:1, and in real life, it is probably not too different.

They have literally nothing to say, AND a candidate who is a disaster, so all they can do is smear and fear monger about the other guy.

It’s all empty hypotheticals about Trump or getting called Vlad .

This is all they have
