Lots of kids work really hard every summer and don't even get to swim A meets.

The vast majority of kids at these special events are year round swimmers.


+1. NVSL has these two random pseudo-elite meets that take lots of time, coordination and effort but really are for such a small percentage of the kids. The posters talking about renting out the St James are nuts. No way would pools agree to increase their NVSL dues by such a huge amount to rent out a facility. We're at a pool that usually sends maybe 3 relays or so. A dozen kids or so.


I think the idea was that teams/parents would pay a per entry fee. NVSL itself wouldn't pay for it. Not sure if that is feasible or not. I'm guessing the St. James is not cheap to rent out...
