Someone else posted that most kids take 3-5 APs by 10th grade at Basis. As if that should be the norm. But then i mentioned that kids who did that in 8th grade didn’t do well and you say they weren’t prepared. So which is it? You want Walls and Basis to require crazy numbers of APs at lower grades even if they aren’t prepared?

There's no way that happened. Very few kids are skipped ahead to that degree. The kids who are were knocking it out the park with math. If they had any struggles along the way, they would have been bumped back down a level. Or, they would have been forced to take the slower pre-calculus sequence. In calculus, if the over-accelerated kid weren't pretty much guaranteed to pass the AP, they wouldn't have been allowed to take it.

My kid took the Calc AP in 8th and got a 5. He was the only kid in his grade skipped up to that level, and there weren't any kids in the grade above or behind who were double skipped like that. The person who "knows" "kids" (plural) at Basis who took AP Calc in 8th and got 2s is most likely the Basis hater who shows up on every thread trashing Basis or making things up to make Basis look bad.

Very few kids take 3-5 APs by 10th grade at Basis. The majority of kids take only AP US Government in 9th. Some additionally take AP Physics 1, and some take an AP elective.
My rising 11th grader took AP Government in 9th, and then AP Chem, Calc, European History, and Lit in 10th. They will take another 5 APs next year and end with 10 total. This is a pretty normal load for a Basis student.

There are also two very important things you're missing in this discussion. At Basis, your AP score will change your final grade. Kids who score a 2 on an AP will at maximum get a B in the course, even if they had a 100% average in the class. Basis kids are not going to sit for an AP exam if they feel unprepared, because doing so will trash their GPA. Also, taking an AP class does not mean that you will be recommended or even allowed to take the AP exam. They take diagnostic mock AP exams beforehand, and any kids who don't look like they'll easily pass aren't allowed to take the AP test.

I doubt that. The normal progression at Basis is Calc AB in 10th grade.

I am PP and I don’t post trashing Basis. I don’t care enough about Basis to trash the school. I do post what people tell me. So I will just assume that the three kids who told me they got 2s on the AP Calc exam at Basis in 8th grade were lying. And that the anonymous posters know better than them. I will also ignore what the former Basis teachers I know tell me about the school. Because of course you know better.

The PP said Walls doesn’t allow kids to take APs until 10th grade. That is false. They don’t specifically offer APs to 9th graders. And most of the AP electives fill with upperclassmen so a 9th grader couldn’t take AP Human or Psych. But I know 9th graders who’ve taken APs at Walls.

Your info is out of date and/or you are misinformed.

As noted above, Basis required AP Gov last year for 8th graders.

Plenty of kids take 1-2 APs 8th grade and 2-3 APs 9th grade (for example, Econ is a popular 9th grade class, and it is 2 APs). That is 3-5 APs before 10th grade.
