So true. DH was attracted to ambitious me. Once we had kids, I cut down at work and eventually became a SAHM.

Disagree. While it would be great for the mother to be educated, there are countless examples of SAHM w/ a HS education raising accomplished kids. Immigrant families stress the importance of education which is why so many of the children are accomplished.

This is OP. I am Ivy educated and have a good career in communications. I am slim and love to workout and am obsessed with self improvement. I also love the arts; classic literature, theatre, museums, music hence why I get along with the cultured but the unambiguous men I’ve met.

Have you read Proust? Not many people have. The only (three) people I know who have were professors. They were definitely ambitious people, because academia is cutthroat. I think you mean a rich man?

Anyone who has gone to Catholic high school has read that and Faust twice before college. And if liberal arts had to read it a third time.

My wife has, but only Swann's Way. (I probably won't ever get around to it.) And yes, that's one of the things (but not only!) that attracted me.

Intellectual and social compatibility. Good education is a professional degree from a competitive school.

You do realize that those immigrant moms are very resourceful and ambitious. They would 100% be well educated if they could.

Immigrant families also tend to have families where both parents are highly educated, the minimum being a college degree
