How do you raise winners?

According to other threads on DCUM, a 40+ years old person needs to make at least $300k/yr to be a winner. Otherwise, they are undatable, goodness be damn.

I have seen some of those threads. A not even nice townhouse in a decent neighborhood in the DMV is going to cost you $1m. If you want a very normal lifestyle where you can feed your family, send your kids to a decent school district, have well running cars and a summer vacation, you need at least 300k. You can obtain this with two working parents. I’m pretty sure the dual fed families I know all feel very MC although technically they are UMC.

I’m wondering whether I should move him to private school so he can have the experience of struggle and know that there are many many smart and capable kids out there that can compete and beat him.

Wait until he gets to college and earns a few Cs. Hopefully he survives that.

My point is that I hope he stumbles (in a minor way) before college, before high school.

We are well-off and I try to offset the effects of privilege in small ways. So I think "What would my Asian immigrant parents do?"
I also put them in Asian/Russian immigrant heavy activities, like chess and math. It's been really humbling to my "everything comes easy to me" kid to be demolished in chess by a Chinese kid a grade below him and be made fun of in math class by Indian kids.
