Israel cannot defeat Iran and they aren't trying to. They're trying to defeat Hamas. Whether they can do that or not is a different question.

Israel is by far a superior military force compared to Iran. Iran is funding Hamas and Israel has no illusions about the head of this snake.

What does this even mean? Sure, Israel can evade Iran's air defenses and bomb some strategic targets there. But Israel has no ability to "destroy" Iran.

Israel can’t even destroy Hamas or Hezbollah let alone Iran. They want us to destroy Iran.

Well let’s see, Iran is the only country where the destruction of the state of Israel is literally in their constitution and a stated goal of their government … despite that, the country/government that would be the happiest if the US “destroyed” Iran is not Israel but Saudi Arabia.

So? The US orchestrated the assassination of the freely elected leader of Iran. Why? Because Iran’s newly democratic government wanted British Petroleum to pay royalties. BP paid no royalties because Iran was under UK colonial rule and all resources were owned by the crown. This pushed the population to see the US as evil(and hypocritical). The religious fanatics were the only ones fighting the brutal, oppressive regime we sponsored. So Iran is now a religious state like Israel. Iran sees the creation of Israel as evil because of the treatment of the Palestinians.

A much easier solution is to force the Israelis to give full rights of citizenship, right of return and compensation to the Palestinians vs the endless war to make the region accept Israel’s apartheid state and going genocide against the Palestinians.

There is only one choice and it is the only logical option.

No, the fair thing to do is: Hamas gives back the remaining hostages/missing or cops to the fact that they are dead. They turn in their leadership to face the consequences. The Palestinians are all related because the women are having 6+ kids with their own cousins, everyone knows each other, everyone knows who the bad guys are and where they are hiding. And they stop carrying out terror attacks, vote out Hamas, stop accepting Iran’s money to prop up Hamas. There’s a reason none of the other countries in the region accept Palestinian refugees, it’s a Trojan horse to just letting terrorists into the front door.

In return the Israeli government starts a clock. Every period of time without Palestinian violence, the Palestinians get more rights. If they start terrorism again, the clock resets. Until some time in the future, when they’re full-fledged citizens of Israel and there’s no more separation. Like the many non-Jewish (Muslim, Christian, Druze …) citizens are right now. Of course, the Palestinians would have to be able to live under a secular government with largely Western/liberal values around things like women’s rights, elections, freedom of movement, etc. So it’s going to take decades to de-radicalize people who currently want a Sharia law government and would be a puppet state of Iran.

Have you not learned from Iraq and Afghanistan? What about ISIS and the Taliban is freeing? War only helps terrorism increase. When people lose their homes, their families, their livelihoods in an instant and school is interrupted or non existent due to war, what will these boys/men do? Who will they turn to ?

Are you suggesting one day they’ll just come to their senses? The reality is nothing will change without it and there is a possibility it could go the wrong way. I believe the Iranian people are ready unlike those in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I think you need your head examined. We barely have democracy here. Our lawmakers have been in office for 40+ years no term limits . Many were there before the Iranian Revolution/new government there.

Why can’t we leave well enough alone? Iran isn’t no dump. It’s a developed country . Why destroy it? If they want regime change, let them do it. It’s not our place or job to do it for them. We have our own problems.

How many wars will it take for us to learn? Our democracy is not something people aspire to and neither are our freedoms so just let it be

A "developed country" that executes people for protesting, religious heresy, and homosexuality. I don't necessarily think it is beneficial for the US to intervene in the affairs of other countries (in most circumstances), but people that defend Iran are conveniently ignoring it's many shortcomings. It's insane to me that many of the people protesting in support of these countries (mainly Palestine and Iran) are conveniently ignoring the fact that their lifestyle would be punishable by death in those places.

Absolutely. Totally baffling.

When I see a "Gays for Palestine" banner, I want to know if these people are just stupid, ignorant, or brain washed.

I think the same about Netanyahu and encouraging Qatar to bankroll Hamas . How did he ever think that would lead to a great result?

Saudi Arabia and Israel should join forces and attack Iran.

Population of Saudi 36 million, population of Israel 9 million( only 7 million allowed to in the military) vs Iran 88 million. Israel and Saudi fought a 10 year war in Yemen and lost. The Saudi suck as fighters, the Israeli can not draft enough citizens to fill its military(60k) and almost a 1/3 of Israelis are exempt from the draft. The exempt ultra orthodox say they will leave the country before fighting for Israel. I really think many non orthodox israelis at this point would refuse to be drafted to fight Iran. So yeah sounds like a great plan.

This right here is going to be the issue for Israel. It is the ultra orthodox who are going to determine the fate of Israel because their birth rate is so high. The Times of Israel reported last year "Due to high birthrates, Haredi (ultra orthodox) children represent nearly 20% of all students and more than a quarter of all Hebrew-speaking students." The unemployment rate for Haredim men is about 50% and with very few exceptions they don't serve in the Israeli military.

Oh no it is not. Israel is like every other Middle East country. There is no protect for gays and there is no gay marriage in Israel. Tell me you are ignorant of the realities of living in a state controlled by religious fanatics.

Though I do not know why you are posting in the Israel bombing Iran thread.

At this time. Just like the religious right in the US the religious right in Israel is against LGBTQ protections and gay marriage. They are increasing in size so this might not last. The majority of the gay community in Israel is afraid. In order to get a majority in the Knesset Netanyahu allied himself with very conservative groups and appointed them to his cabinet. The Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich calls himself a “fascist homophobe.” He also has spread awful inflammatory anti-Arab statements. When he planned to come to the United States, 100 prominent Jewish leaders wrote a letter urging Biden to not allow him to enter the US. Biden gave him a visa anyway.

Another minister says Pride parades are “vulgar,” while a deputy minister who wants to cancel them was just given power over some aspects of what schoolchildren are taught. And then there are the lawmakers who want doctors to be able to decline medical care to LGBTQ people.

If we are giving Israel so much money there should be more pressure to ensure homophobia and racist statements aren't made by their leaders.

There’s a significant difference between some people disliking a lifestyle (are you suggesting everyone in say Canada or New Zealand is on board with gay marriage?) and throwing people off buildings for being gay or forcing sex changes so you can be gay. Being gay is not illegal in Israel. You can serve in the military while being openly gay, adopt children, donate blood, same sex marriages are recognized just not done just like they don’t do interfaith marriages. There is no censorship of gay people. Conversion therapy is banned there too.

As Israel looks to the left and right and sees no allies next to her and an enemy blocking her, she has no choice but to lunge at the enemy. Anyone who expects a different outcome does not understand international politics.

Incredibly , there are even Arab Israeli men apparently who serve in the IDF. I wonder why Israel doesn’t suspect them of double dealing but will blast women and kids to pieces because they “know something”.

Israel suffers from the standing too close to the elephant phenomenon

I would bet everything Hamas given their fluent Hebrew have a couple of moles in the IDF and that’s how they’ve been able to hide throughout the past 6 months. They know where the IdF plans on going next

I hate to see where this goes if we don’t stand up to Israel.

Oh no. Iran might finally be free of their tyrannical government and the Iranian people can finally be free.

Same with gays who support israel.

Tell me you’re ignorant without telling me your ignorant. Israel is the only middle eastern country to have LGBTQ protections and recognize same sex marriage.

Homosexuality is not illegal in the West Bank.

It’s illegal in Gaza but there is still a gay community there. They don’t like Israel either . It turns out gay people don’t want to die or get their limbs cut off or hear their mothers and siblings burned to death .

It’s laughable how Zionists can’t defend themselves and have to cherry pick homosexuality to make Muslims look bad.

How about we cherry-pick pedophilia and talk about Israels troublesome ways with that and justify that as a reason to kill? That’s how stupid the homosexuality argument is to justify killing Palestinians. Zionists would like to fool Americans into doing their killing for them but it isn’t working anymore
