Agree! If someone is seriously interested in DEIB they should send their kid to a DC Public not some " progressive school" that hand selects " shiny kids" from every possible demographic.

DEI,

So you get in trouble for micro aggression for calling someone by the wrong pronoun.

But calling for the genocide of Jewish students it totally ok since its fits the pro-Palestinian narrative. So that is allowable for Jewish students who have no affiliation and maybe do not even support Israel to be discriminated against.

See: Harvard, Columbia, GW, etc….

I think so. I hope so. Yet another fad in American education

I sure hope so too. It feels like the DEI crowd is stoking resentment between the races just to keep themselves relevant and employed.

DEI is also coming to an end at Stone Ridge, thank goodness. The school had gone too far with their virtue signaling and upset many full-paying parents. Their fundraising to support financial aid had extremely low participation this year. Very very few registered and showed up for DEI meetings (DEI staff outnumbered the parents that showed up 😆). It’s obvious that everyone is tired of DEI. So the administration is backing off.

Sounds like this isn’t the school for an AA girl.

Oh no!!!! We are applying to SR for 5th and the DEI work they mentioned at admissions and interviews seemed to match what they promote on their website too. https://www.stoneridgeschool.org/mission/diversity-equity-and-inclusion

How is SR backing off of DEI? Behind the scenes? I’m emailing my admissions contact too. Would love to know from SR parents.

SR isn’t backing off. They might not be waving a flag so to speak, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Ask yourself if SR was on your list before the DEI movement. They were the same before and now the same after. Virtue-signaling isn’t something I want my daughters to be adept at, so I feel that is a plus.

stop assuming that all AA girls are cookie cutter, because it makes you sound racist. it is great for some AA girls, and not great for others.

Do you realize how racist you are? "Full pay parents" = white parents? Please check yourself

Omg, CHECK YOURSELF! I can’t believe you are assuming full pay parents are only white! HOW RACIST AND DEMEANING. So in your mine white (and for your closed mind) Asians are only full pay? Unbelievable. Way to make assumptions. If you’re black you can’t afford it, if you’re white/jewish/asian you can ? You are part of the problem that is making this area intolerable.

Yes, that's exactly what I was saying. I assume you're talking to the previous poster.

Seriously. Pp majorly told on themselves there. The nominally progressive people prove themselves to be the most racist over and over again.
