NM and DMV FC to GFR?

Who really cares, everyone’s going to have a place to play next year and everyone will have pretty much the same experience no matter what club you’re at.

They will promise ecnl spots and you’ll end up playing busted ass EDP or NCSL. I feel really sorry for all the GFR families who have put so much loyalty into that club all for RS to rip it away and allow the upcoming purge to take place.

As a player who's had players on NM's team, that is absolutely not true that your kid will be replaced. Look at their 06 team; many of the same players since they were U9. They can't promise ECNL spots; those are NVA decisions. And if you are talking about McLean, many of his girls from DMV went to play for Union/McLean as discovery players. Not everyone likes NM and that's fine but let's not make silly claims like there will be a "purge" at GFR.

Time will tell on this, GFR already purged KB, more to come? As for players if NM is the GFR TD and the GFR rep TD at NVA (like KB was) then seems final say on any invites. You say he doesnt purge his own players, GFR arent his own.

does anyone know if NVA was aware of this? Surely they didn’t know and NM is basically McLean and will gfr feed NVA or Union/McLean? heard total football even sends players to play for Maryland MYS teams so that’s possible too.

Maybe NM will leave the coaching job at Mclean and take over the u13/u14 at NVA in addition to his roll at GFR.

Agree. The u13 girls team is pretty much a full Loudoun squad and they aren't screaming dominance.

Is Rado staying? Any more surprises, GFR?

This is 100% my theory only;

DMV is folding, I think that is a fact please let me know if it is not. GFR has announced (3) old DMV coach's into their club, this is fact as posted on page #2. Looking at DMV's club website it looks like they have 5-6 girls travel team and 1 boys travel team, this is on the internet so it must be a FACT.

Seems like GFR has decided if they hire those (3) people from DMV they will probably retain 75% of those players. That is a pretty significant you over year growth for GFR financially speaking. Anything that happens with current GFR staff is just colleterial damage to gain the growth of 7 teams x 14 returning players x $3,000 club fees = an influx of a fairly conservative $294,000...this is not fact just a decent guesstimate could be more could be less.

Ok that is at a GFR level...now let me guess how that may effect the NVA Encl pipeline. Think Austin Powers with this Theory.

NVA is pulling the strings. Using currently right now GFR as a means to swallow up the DMV program. This benefits GFR by immediate growth, level to be determined. Now this should also provide current DMV girls who are a current pipeline to UNION, an opportunity for them to dual roster, discover player or team member of the NVA ECNL team. Which even is only 15 total girls fall into this category. NVA is still receives some of their competitions best pipeline players (15) into their own pipeline...Brilliant! I love it.

My first instinct is to HATE on the idea of this. But the more I think about what an Alliance should really mean. Does it not make sense for the bigger club to help guide good smaller clubs that need a home to one of their Alliance partners GFR or Valor? It is a win, win, win situation for the ECNL Rosters, Growth of smaller clubs, lifeline for even smaller clubs needing to join someone or fold. The bubble kids on DMV that were frustrated by not get an opportunity to play with the Union ECNL team may now get that opportunity with the NVA alliance. This should be for good both club and kid, and I believe it is.

This is just my thought and or guess of motivation for this addition into GFR soccer and what it could mean for the NVA alliance if coach's actually give the added DMV ECNL bubble roster players a shot to make the NVA roster

After reading this I acknowledge there is no reason to type NVA alliance

We haven't been told anything one way or the other. DD's team will be done in a few months anyway but he also coaches the 07 team (at least for now). Not sure if that will be the case after this year or not.

I mean in theory all alliances should benefit all clubs involved. That of course isn't always the case, but I would hope that is why clubs agree to such things. More cooperation between local clubs is overall a good thing. Everyone around here complains about how diluted the talent is, hopefully the better programs and organizations win out.

Nope. They announced his departure from GFRSC this morning. GD will be taking over the older teams. Sad.

In your elaborate theory does NM stop coaching his Union ECNL teams?
Anonymous
Maybe NM coaches ECNL teams at both Union and NVA? Maybe they even play against each other! I once saw him coach 2 05 teams playing against each other. He stood in between the benches. It was completely insane. I don’t know how he gets away with this ***. McLean just lets him do whatever he wants because they seem unable to bring in any decent new coaches. If NVA also is tricked into thinking he will help their players get recruited I would not be surprised to find him on their sideline. That would give him even more teams to slide his players into as DPs

It would appear to me NM is all in with GFR. I would be shocked but not totally surprised if he has any connections with Union. It is my understanding GFR still feeds NVA not Union

That is correct. GFRSC is an NVA Alliance member. Will be interested to see if NM still coaches at McLean. We have friends on his 06G ECNL team that really like him.

I was told NM would no longer be coaching for Union but cannot verify.
