Prettier? Not based on HC’s Instagram accounts (graduating seniors). HC is not known to be an academically rigorous school. Thus, a more accurate description of HC students would be average looking girls of average intelligence. That’s not an insult because someone has to be regular.
Why does every thread about all-girls private schools devolve into a discussion of who is prettier? If these are real adults commenting, you should do better.
You guys are so gross.
And all this on top of the snobby discussions supposedly about "rigor". OMG.
OMG, someone mentioned "rigor" on a school forum!! How awful!!!!
You realize that is one of the differentiators between these schools? Some want rigor and some want joy. Is the word joy ok? Cause I think it's kind of hokey.
I see the reason for the quotes flew right over your head. It would be fine if they actually cared about rigor, but most of these discussions are thinly-veiled or outright snobbery based on nonsense metrics. It's just rich people trying to convince themselves they and their kids are at the top of the heap and are somehow more deserving. It's gross. Tale as old as time, but still repugnant.
The fact of the matter is one of those schools is significantly more rigorous, and everyone knows it. That's why the other school is more akin to those with learning differences. It is great that schools in this area can cater to all sorts of students. It has nothing to do with snobbery. Sorry if the discussion triggers your insecurities.
Yes, Holy Child does have a special program that serves girls with learning differences (and also, those WITHOUT learning differences) with study skills, test prep, etc. But that represents less than 10% of the school.
It is also true that the girls and moms there tend to be wealthier than most, very attractive and well dressed. All of these things can be true. But what do you expect - the school is smack in the middle of multi million dollar mansions. Rich men marry beautiful women, thus the girls at HC. It's really not rocket science and stop losing sleep and brain cells trying to argue differently. Be happy you have a super smart SR girl who I am sure will go far in life. Looks aren't everything.
