To this PP and the other, I’m noticing this 🥹 what is it about the place that makes people love it ? |
Thurmont |
I used to say this as a teen because I didn't want to say I was from Potomac and have people say "oh you must be rich." |
Hyattsville? |
Chevy Chase, MD |
Chevy Chase and its villages. Somerset. Glen Echo. Kensington |
Drummond is smaller |
This was my reply, but I'm just reading the thread and see I was correct. I've never lived in Cheverly, but I do live in PGCO, and it's the first town that comes to mind. My one friend that does live there lives it too. |
Baltimore. |
I immediately thought of Somerset. |
Kensington, falls church city. |
Mt Ranier |
Flying into DCA in a row with young DD and stranger. He assumed we were tourists and made some comments about the skyline, that he lived in DC, what were we going to do on our visit, etc. I pointed out a major landmark in Upper NW and told DD we live just a couple of blocks from there, then turned to the stranger and asked where he lived. "Well, uh, Bethesda."
Dude, that's fine. Just say "right over the border" in the beginning. |
I haven't read the rest of the thread yet (I will!), but having grown up in Cheverly, it was my first thought. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've described it just so. And I'm not your IRL friend! |
My first thought was Winchester. But I grew up in NoVA . I have heard of Cheverly but only because I think I have seen it on Metro maps. I am not sure what line it is on, what county it is in, etc. |
