Not PP, but I'm sure many staff and parents have initial impressions and interactions they could share. It sounds like they're just trying to do a vibe check for how things are starting off with a new person in charge. A new principal can bring change quickly.

The year is great so far! Communication from admin to families is is leaps and bounds better than last year. I met the new principal in person for the first at back to school night a few weeks ago and she seems great. My son (1st grade) is happy and doing really well.

I have a kid in middle school at OA. So far the new principal seems good, Dr Brito is very direct, has good energy. Sent out a very honest notice to parents acknowledging the confusion about "accelerated math" in 6th grade. Plans to hold a math specific meeting to go over the concerns.

Oh really? Where is that math specific meeting?

End of Principal Carolina Brito's first school year as principal -- she is excellent! Data-driven, engaged, focused on academics & the community. Both the elementary and middle school experiences have been great for my kids. In 2025, we are looking forward to a fully renovated Adams Campus for our 4-8 graders. Our kids will continue to benefit from the deep expertise of the teachers and staff and the leadership of our energized new Principal.

He was great. In a school of many opinions, I only ever heard positive things about him.

There are always some DCUM posters who reflexively post negative stuff on any thread that mentions Oyster or Adams. There was one poster who kept posting negative stuff about the librarian for a decade after she retired. It’s weird.
