Terrible bumper sticker on teen car

Anonymous
It's like the ones I used to see that said, "My kid beat up your honor student" when people used to put those, "My kid is an honor student at xyz school" on their cars. It's a joke making fun of that kind of bragging and sanctimony. I would never put either one on my car, but that's the idea.

You are wound really tight, aren't you? Relax. it's a joke.

OP here. I was hit by a teen driver when I was a child. I spent months in the hospital and had to be pinned back together. I have permanent scars from the accident. When you or a family member goes through something like that please let me know how funny you think it is. The slogan is in really poor taste given how much pedestrian fatalities have increased in recent years.

Of course you were OP.

Yes, I was. I’m happy to answer any questions about it. I had a fractured femur and spent two months in traction, another eight weeks in a body cast, two months on crutches and another several months in PT learning how to walk again.

OP's posts, a retrospective"

#1 - "Isn't this terrible? There was a pedestrian fatality recently."

[does not get the response she wants]

#2 - "I have a young child, so I find it offensive."

[still doesn't get the response she wants]

#3 - "I was hit be a teen driver when I was a kid!"

[still doesn't get the response she wants]

#4 - OP catalogs injuries she suffered as a child.

Verdict = troll.

+1

What’s next?

OP is assuming the driver is even a teen. If OP is the typical middle aged or older parent, we can’t even tell ages anymore. I’m in my 40s and I’ve had doctors now who I think look like teens.

Lighten up. There are offensive things everywhere. Don’t look.

I saw one way worse today. It said "Trump 2024".

Bumper stickers are an advertisement for stupidity.

Definitely a joke one, right???

I can’t believe people are defending this as funny. Not at all funny. No way I would let my teen make a “joke” like this. I absolutely hate it when people say hurtful things and then say “oh, lighten up—you’re too tightly wound.” That is the perennial excuse of a-holes everywhere.

Dude dark humor like that got me through my cancer diagnosis. If you don’t like it that’s your problem. It everything is about you.

Unless cannibalism was actually a problem in the 70s (like pedestrian accidents are today), this is not the same thing.

Yet you turned it about you in a flash.

It was a true news story re: the rugby players. Look it up if you want! It was tragic.

The Rugby plane crash victims eating the dead was a totally isolated incident.

In the US, 20 people die every single day from being hit while walking. Countless more are severely injured.
