Ohhhhh, that explains your posts. LOL. |
Neither are yours. And you stupidly saying “full stop” doesn’t make them so. DP |
Actually, most don't give out candy and I'm sick and tired of kids coming in asking "do you have any food? drinks? candy?" The entitlement is insane. Imagine teaching your kids respect. |
It’s ice cream , they are children enjoying their lives , calm down. |
Agree. I suggested my DD purchase it once per week when she asked me at beginning of year. Sometimes she buys it twice a week, or none. Has a small dessert w dinner like a cookie or piece of candy a few times a week but I don’t police what or when. Seems like a bad idea and not realistic to restrict a 6th grader like that, it may backfire. |
All these people blaming the schools for their kids obesity - wow.
Americans have no food culture. Many don't know how to cook, they eat out frequently/get take out, and what they cook is from processed ingredients. The snacks offered at home are processed things too - not fruits and cheese and veggies and nuts. If you fed them properly at home - breakfast, snack, dinner, the potential ill effects of a small ice cream here or there or cookies or chips would be minimal, at best. I don't care what my kid buys at school, because 97% of our meals I cook. She likes what I make and strongly prefers it to school lunch. Noone who has got a handle on their home meals acts like OP, unless she's masking fear of fatness in her daughter (in which case, cut it out, that's far more harmful than ice cream for your kid). |
Oh, honey. Bless your heart. My views are not only valid, they are correct. PP’s invalid opinions simply shouldn’t be expressed. She embarrasses herself. I’m thinking yours shouldn’t be either. Away with you… |
Teach your kid some self control. Just because your kid can’t control themselves doesn’t mean you get to dictate what others can do n |
Here’s how I know OP’s reaction is based on pure emotion and anxiety, not reason.
If you have this big a problem with tiny containers of low fat, fairly low sugar ice cream being available, you should be ready to call 911 over the availability of pizza, hamburgers, chicken tenders, peanut butter and jelly, chicken and waffles, and French toast sticks, Cinnamon rolls, and chicken biscuits. Some of those higher calorie entrees might actually make a kid gain too much weight if eaten every day. The ice cream is not the problem. |
|
DP oh my lord you are a delusional lunatic. |
Meanwhile most of us don’t do this nor do our kids. Ice cream is a dessert/snack and nothing more. It’s also why MCPS requires 3 quarters of Health class in MS, so kids can learn healthy choices and lifestyles. More importantly most kids don’t eat it every day because then they would tire of it. |
Exactly. If I was concerned about my kid eating too much ice cream one conversation reminding them about moderation would solve this problem. |
You want MCPS to stop serving ice cream in the entire school system (MS and HS) because your daughter can’t stop buying ice cream daily and has gained weight?
That’s what you want? Just checking …… |
Lol. For three years in high school my lunch every day was a bag of chips, a candy bar of some sort, and a soda. If I had time, I would also smoke cigarettes. Gen X as well |
