I would like to see Frumin's talking points on vouchers. When I called his office last week his aide mentioned them, but what came across to me was there would be more responsibility on landlords. However, this is a city generated problem, starting with illegal value of these vouchers. The "solution" to the disaster of upper Connecticut, and potentially other buildings, may include (but needs to go much further) than telling landlords to "do something".

Well, you better buckle up. It’s about to get cold so more new neighbors will be arriving soon. |
Frumin was elected in '22 after Cheh announced she wasn't running. |
My god, he’s screwed this up so badly in just one year? We’re doomed. |
To be fair, the city was running an illegally over subsidized / zero scrutiny voucher program for a while. They even managed to turn that nice little hotel--days inn?-- into a nuisance unhoused/rehused. Now frumin just jumped on board. I think"big" landlords in DC have responsibility--like the ones who let property lie fallow. But the city needs to write a far more extensive reform to this program than just saying landlords needs to address nuisance tenants. |
I do not think that is the case. People living in the homes of Conn and Wisc still utilize metro, grocery stores, etc. Many have parents who retired into these buildings, or kids who live or lived there. |
Everyone complaining here should ask that person to run again and contribute to his campaign.Who was it? |
He also called for ceding DC in to Maryland. |

There was another stabbing in Van Ness on Sunday morning, the second in four days. The MPD alert:

There was no Ward 3 Council election in '20. |
That was posted here at 8:41, three pages ago. |
Not a bad idea. Maryland is much better run than Dee-Cee (which will never, ever be a state). |
That would have been far from the most dangerous coming out of the current Council. |
Do you have utilities included? The city prefers that, simplifies things. So older rent controlled buildings have swapped out those tenants for vouchers in many cases. |
You're talking about Krucoff, the Republican candidate in the general. Eric Goulet was the Democratic candidate running in the primary, and he said that there were serious issues with the voucher program that needed to be addressed (for which he was relentlessly trashed and called a bigot). He also wanted to focus on improving Ward 3, such as trying to solve the issue of it lacking the Pre-K that the rest of the city has. By contrast, Frumin's focus was about how Ward 3 needed to sacrifice more for the rest of the city. Voters chose Frumin, and here we are. |
