Kids at other schools have gotten into fights; what stands out here is the level of sheer brutality and the ganging up on victims.
There must be consequences and those consequences must include expulsions from B-CC. Who would want to send their kids to that school if kids responsible for such mayhem were allowed to remain there? |
| MCPS has a school for students with severe behavior problems. That’s where to send violent youths. No need to expel. |
The assaults were at Metro, so that is looking more unsafe than B-CC. |
| Why were the kids at the metro? That doesn’t seem like a typical destination after a game. |
In TX and MD it is explicitly legal. In OR it is explicitly illegal. Everywhere else is prosecutorial discretion. |
If you know the Bethesda metro, it makes sense. They weren’t inside the station, but on the side that faces Chipotle (kiss and ride/parking). |
You may find this shocking but some people in this county use the metro as a mode of transportation! |
The optics of that sheer number of students ganging up one one, combined with the sheer brutality of watching defenseless children being kicked and punched over and over and over and over again was stomach turning. |
Which one? Twain school was closed years ago, and RICA is the school if you're in juvenile detention. What I've seen they do now is just transfer the problem to another school. The ringleader of the Damascus locker room gang rape was on his third high school by that point. |
Not if they live within a few miles of the Bethesda Metro. The Metro does not go anywhere near Walter Johnson. Where would they be going? Wheaton? -- "the Horror." |
A lot of WJ students live near Grosvenor or White Flint. |
This didn’t happen inside the metro station. Metro just happens to be two blocks from the school and the parking area is a cut through for anyone walking to Chipotle or Bethesda Row. The fact that this happened where it did has nothing to do with who does or doesn’t take public transportation. |

Has McKnight actually made a statement about this incident? MCPS has been getting a lot of negative press in the Washington Post lately.
Well deserved in my opinion |
Silver Spring. Those kids don't live in chevy chase cmon now |
