Bottom line who do you see being sworn in as president in 2024?

The second term Governor of Michigan.

My vote will be with Biden, I'm actually happy with the soft landing the economy is doing compared to other countries and relatively speaking. I fear a Republican will send inflation sky high with tax cuts like throwing gas on a flame (and you KNOW that they will try for tax cuts if elected). That and concern w/ what they will do with abortion law as a woman, healthcare worker, mother of a girl.

I do look forward to 4-years from now when we might actually have fresh faces and perhaps less polarizing candidates.

How is Biden polarizing? What specifically has he done besides be a fairly middle-of-the-road Democrat who wants to reach across the aisle?

My gawd. Clueless.

His mere existence, and not being a big bloviating orange bully, his not setting up machine guns at the border to blow brown people to bits, his tolerance of LGBT+ people and so on - is deeply "polarizing" to the MAGAs.

Biden beats anyone over the age of 70 including Trump.

But his age is a real concern for a lot of people. I'm a big Biden supporter and think he's done a decent job with the terrible situation dropped on him by Trump's administration, but it's hard to truly vote for someone who will turn 82 just after the election and would end his term at the age of 86. Looking at Diane Feinstein, Chuck Grassley, Mitch McConnell and other octagenarian politicians, if they start a term over 80, the end of the term is not pretty. I know McConnell is only 80 now, but he's had various health problems including today when he went into a waking coma that are pretty scary and I really don't see a Commander-in-Chief doing any better. The stresses of the office greatly age the POTUS and if you start out old, then the stresses are even more drastic.

If the other candidate can dispel the age issue (by being older, themselves) then Biden's record as a strong incumbent will carry the day. But the American public is very concerned about both Biden and Trump due to their advanced ages. Since Trump doesn't have the age benefit (3.5 years is inconsequential to this argument), he will lose again.

Um, open borders, anyone?

If Mr. "build a wall" couldn't stop the flow of illegal immigrants, how is anybody supposed to?

Huh? Biden’s border policy is working. Traffic is down greatly. Sorry, try again, this time more than a RW talking point. What passed policy is polarizing? From what I see, most policies are widely liked.

I was hoping for either Destantis (looks unlikely now) or Tim Scott (maybe VP) to whoever gets it?

It's going to be another poop show between Trump & Biden. Nobody wins. American public loses big time.

Americans have been doing pretty darn good under Biden. He successfully landed the COVID plane. Show me a non US country with lower inflation & better economy? And now it’s clear the “inevitable recession” isn’t happening.

His border policy is working, violent crime is down (still too high in DC), low unemployment, high wages…

Joe Biden has been one of the best Presidents in US history and will be for 5.5 more years. After that we can discuss which one of the MANY excellent people on the bench will take over. I’m a huge fan of Gov. Whitmer but for now, I’m ridin with Biden!

This. The right wing talking points on what’s wrong with Biden are all false. He’s navigated us extremely well on the economic front coming out of the pandemic into a tough inflationary period. His updated border policy has led to a huge drop in border crossings (although I do worry about the latest judicial ruling that might make it illegal. I hope the administration’s appeal goes smoothly). Biden’s infrastructure work is having a big impact in depressed areas that need an infusion of investments. If he can hold onto the White House and reclaim the House in ‘24, maybe they can make more progress on IRS funding, voting rights. I’m not sure what they can do about protecting healthcare rights, but if abortion shows up anywhere on the ballot, it’s winning and people don’t want more restrictions- so long-term, I think that will head back in the right direction. Republicans want to destroy our democracy so that remains our biggest risk right now. They want to install an autocrat, continue their massive grift and corruption and take power away from the people.

If abortion shows up in the ballot? What do you mean if. Abortion is in the ballot unless you have been living under a rock.

What about his random tariffs (threatened and real) announced every other day on Twitter in order to manipulate the stock market (and increase prices for Americans...) That was great, stabilizing policy as well.

And the right wing nuts say Trump was one of the "best Presidents in US history". There is a rising number of normal Americans that are seeing through the R and D party chaos and divisiveness.

I think I read that approximately 4 million new Gen-Z become voting age each year. Abortion, and all the privacy trappings that go along with that, will be a big driver with them. Republicans already know it's a problem but don't know how to effectively walk it back. The abortion issue was always intended to be a carrot, not something that they wanted done. So now it's a 'get out the vote' driver for Democrats instead.

Imperfect as it is, you can choose between these two in our system as it now stands and that choice it has consequences.
