Bottom line who do you see being sworn in as president in 2024?

That is a centrist, common-sense ticket that I would gladly support!

Dream on. Trump is the gop candidate and Biden is the Dem. Is what it is as was 2020.

The name of the 2024 game is to keep trump away from ever having the presidency again. Literally anyone would be better but the only actual person that can prevent it is the Dem nominee.

And Manchin/Gabbard will be the third party ticket. Easy peasy!

Third parties just serve to get one of the other 2 choices elected. Choose one if you want but understand which candidate it actually serves when you choose.

A vote for Manchin/Gabbard supports their ticket. Most of us want another option to vote for besides the two poor choices we will likely end up with in 2024.

Educate yourself about third party candidates. There have been plenty of them.

He is the incumbent, he has run a very good administration and barring some self-inflicted economic collapse, he should win.

Ha you made me spit out my morning coffee. the most inept, corrupt pathetic corpse of a president ever to sit in the White House. Only thing worse would be Kamala.

I like how now, Joe Biden is the most corrupt POTUS we’ve ever had. Suuuure. Trump, Clinton, Nixon, ok. Joe Biden? Eh….

The Roe decision was actually a non-decision…an acknowledgement that the Supreme Court had no business deciding what was appropriate on such a topic. And you know that every bit as well as I do. I hope you’re not one of those people running around claiming the Supreme Court has made abortion illegal.

Trump's role is overturning roe is one his proudest accomplishments. You don't know your beloved candidate very well.

I wanted Cruz in 2016 & I like Desantis in 2024. But I can’t help being fascinated by apparently grown adults who say things like the country will be burned down if Trump gets elected, yet are unable to articulate specific reasons for such an extreme response. Aren’t you even a little surprised by your inability to say “Trump’s policy on x was bad” or “He really screwed up y”? I expected dozens of reasons, & so far I see ONE. And as horrible as that one thing is, if it’s true it should result in a long prison sentence, not a burned-down country.

It’s not about policy. Trump has been very vocal about his authoritarian tendencies. Ignores rule of law, wants to make all fed employees subject to firing at his discretion, and his disdain for his non-supporters.

The President of the United States is president for all Americans, regardless if they love him or despise him. As president he should have a
temperature that rises about petty middle-school thinking.

And last, the lies. People put Bill Clinton through the wringer for lying. As a Dem I was disgusted right along with my R family members. But along comes Trump who lies, lies, lies and no one bats an eye. What was the saying? You take him figuratively not literally?

So I’m sorry if you are too logical to see what a threat he is to this wonderful country and it’s hard-working citizens.

Trump accomplished nothing in his Presidency beyond getting the justices on the court who would overturn Roe. He doesn't actually have any policies to comment upon because he treats the Presidency as an opportunity for self-enrichment and as a reality tv show. His only real objective was using executive orders to try to overturn anything Obama-related because he thought that would get him attention and applause. He's too galactically stupid to have a real agenda otherwise. On a personal level, he's a bully, a sexual predator, a serial liar, juvenile with all his name calling, and a criminal. And, of course, he wants to burn it all down next term as well as use the Presidency to try to escape criminal culpability. What other "policy" has he actually pushing for the last six months? Half his speech is dedicated to whining about the stolen election and the other half is whining about his indictments.

You are into charismatic authoritarians. You have a repubulican personality type. It's pointless to argue about policy.”

This is what I’ve been getting for years. Even from Republicans who hate Trump. They claim they have many good reasons to believe Trump is the AntiChrist, but when I ask for specifics, they got nothin’.

You don’t know me, yet your default position is to project all sorts of stereotypes on me. I was actually a Ted Cuz guy in 2016 (so much for being s pushover for charisma!). What I liked best about Cruz was his excellent education & his success in formal debating competitions. I wanted a guy who could articulate subtle ideas and back them up with logic, not emotion.

But Trump got the nod and between him and the Queen of the Deplorables it was no contest. What shocked me though, was the immediate panic about Trump. Like he had been famous for decades & I never heard a word about him being racist. But he gets nominated & all of a sudden he’s George Wallace 2.0.

So that tipped me off that something was fishy. I watched more carefully, & one thing after another kept being dumped on him. The Russian collusion thing was a joke from the start, yet everyone was falling for it. Why? A guy dies at the hands of the police in Democrat-run Minneapolis in blue Minnesota & the next thing you know there is a mob outside the White House throwing bricks. Why?

I’m a painfully logical guy. I’ve TAUGHT logic for decades. I kept looking for logical reasons to back up the hatred for Trump. I thought surely, today, I would get solid reasons why Trump sucks from the legions of haters here. But so far all I see is he supposedly raped someone. If he did, then arrest him & put him on trial. But after watching him be accused of being a Russian Collusion traitor every day for 3 years, forgive me for asking for a guilty verdict before I want him drawn & quartered.

The Russia investigation was indeed mostly a bunch of BS and in some cases Trump may have been unfairly labeled but this guy physically mocked a physically handicapped person in front of a camera for the whole world to see in 2015. He absolutely did that. No adult gets a free pass to do that; especially one running for the most important job in the world. Trump was and still is his own worst enemy. As unfit as Biden may be for the office of president going forward, if left with a choice between these two awful candidates, it's Biden all the way for any rational, decent voting adult.

But it literally is BEYOND BELIEF, because when I ask them why they hate him, it’s always “He’s a vile narcissistic misogynist racist who disrespects our laws and is ruining the country.” When I ask for specifics they sputter something about Jan 6, froth at the mouth, and change the subject.

The Jan 6 thing is indeed problematic, but the fact that he recommended increased Capitol security on that day seems to shed a little doubt. But, ok, I agree he could have been more precise about how he wanted his supporters to express their displeasure on Jan 6. Fine.

But I’m not kidding here, what EXACTLY beyond Jan 6 has he done that causes you so much pain? Name the top 5 things. This should be easy, because most of you seem to have a list of hundreds of things.

But don’t say Charlottesville because we all know CNN conveniently stops the “good people on both sides” clip right before he says he’s he’s NOT referring to the Nazis (but rather those for and against taking down the statues). And don’t play the classified documents card unless you include Hillary & Joe in your condemnation. And don’t claim he hates migrants because everybody knows Obama separated kids from parents & had cages & those guys on horseback weren’t whipping anybody.

I don't think this would be a useful argument. There's no policy argument that's going to change your mind. And after all the years and all the issues, you remain comfortable with Trump's character.

You are into charismatic authoritarians. You have a repubulican personality type. It's pointless to argue about policy.

Authoritarians?

I believe SCOTUS stated NO to Biden paying off student loans. The debt is not forgiven. It is transferred to the tax payers. All spending bills originate in the House. That is by design under separation of powers. The legislative branch is NOT the executive branch. Is this too difficult to comprehend?

And yet even after the Judicial branch said no, we have Biden in the Executive branch AGAIN trying to put tbe tax payer on the hook for what they did not sign up for. It's clear - he is trying to buy votes. Do you have ANY self-awareness?

Now, you were lecturing everyone on "authoritarians"....? Please continue.

Exactly.

The Democrats need to start planning for the reality of another Biden-Trump matchup, and figure out which states they can hold from 2020. It won’t be easy.

The democrats did not engineer the overturning of roe. The republicans need to plan for the reality that the GOP will pay dearly for that in 2024.

These are the sort of generalities you get when you ask for specifics of why the country should be burned down if Trump gets re-elected. If they had specifics, they would name them. But in the 42 hours since the challenge to name their top 5 specific reasons Trump is Satan, we get:

1. He allegedly raped an unnamed person

2. His Supreme Court nominees voted to allow states (gasp!) what to do on abortion.

3. He mocked a guy at a rally.
