Shooting near Catholic University

Wasn't he heading to Lib. of Congress? Initially, he didn't seem to be threatened and was walking away but then returned. He also had a cell phone the whole time but texted only right before shooting. Maybe the suspect was on drugs and wasn't even sure what he wanted.

Maybe he forgot something back in his room. But the entire thing is confusing and just so sad because it appears that Max could have escaped.

That is one big convoluted mess...."the decedent walks beside the decedent"

I feel that the best chance to get away was when another man walked by. And it doesn't look like the gun was pointed at him yet. But you never know how you'd behave in this situation.

Reason no. 8,364 to keep walking when panhandled, like the guy who didn’t get abducted, robbed and shot did.

Another shooting - and death last night. Right across the street from campus. This corner has a Chipotle, Pot Belly, the campus bookstore, Busboys & Poets, Starbucks. Many students live in the apartment buildings that are on that corner. The parent Facebook page is reporting that a couple of students heard the shooting on the street below their apartment.

I swear someone is handing out free guns to kids in PG and DC.

Apparently the robbery shooting involved a 3D printed gun. WTF did the guy get that?

Jesus. Send the National Guard into DC.

This was also super confusing to me. Maybe he forgot something?

The teen girls killed the Uber Eats driver right in front of National Guard, in broad daylight, in Navy Yard.

Rather than platitudes, what we need is actual law enforcement by prosecutors, both USAO and AG and by DC Sup Ct. judges who are even MORE lax on crime. And bills like 2nd look need to be reevaluated. The entire criminal justice system fails to work at each level. Tighten up laws, tighten up prosecution, tighten up sentencing and then we may head towards the stats that PG enjoys. They actually lock up violent criminals, including juveniles, even show mug shots. Crime is a fraction of DC with a bigger population.

And a graduate student was attacked on July 14 walking from campus metro. We considered CUA but glad we chose elsewhere.
