What is your house worth

Class is Warren Buffet. Net worth of over 100 billion and doesn't give an F about his house.

Buffet has a 6,500 square foot house so it’s not exactly nothing (it is in fact one of the nicest in Omaha). He also sold in 2018 his vacation house in Lavinia beach for $7.5M. Today it would fetch $10M-$15M.

Given his wealth I do not think that is opulent, but it’s not humble either.

Buffett's house in Omaha is actually listed on Zillow. Last I checked, it was worth $1.3M so, yes, that's very humble when you're worth $100,000,000,000+. Hell, half of DCUM lives in a more expensive house.

The beach house was bought for his first wife to move into when they separated in the 1970s. If you know Buffett, he probably kept that after her death as much for sentimental reasons as anything else. As a Republican, I don't like his political views (and I think he is guilty of some hypocrisy there), but his personal lifestyle is unquestionably frugal.

Dcumers live to show off. If they're worth that much why not have a private jet or yacht etc?

Did you quit a 200K job? Do not count the house in net worth; don't you need a place to live in?
You did not retire? Did you just quit? So let's say you have a 2 million net worth in savings. Only a mo ron would quit a 200K job with a 12-year-old. Not just do fewer hours for a couple of years? You are insane.
If you kept your job for another five years, you would be in 10 million dollar savings.
You are insane. Who does that?

Ok, op, just indulge me. Was your supervisor a horrible narcissistic abusive psychopath?
If not, please tell me why you quit, and what reasoning did you have to quit.

Early 50s
$10m net worth, including $1.6M house (paid off and bought for $900k) and ~$1M in 529s for 3 kids, haven't started college yet and in public schools in NoVA.
HHI is roughly $450K and live on roughly $250K per year.

I do my own yard and minor home improvements, drive our cars for 10 years ( Hondas and Toyotas), and kids work during the summers for spending money (that we match in their Roth IRAs).

We are the poorest at out all our friends. Spouse and I drive 10+ year old hondas. I have a sibling who's rich, but not much wealthier than us. But they sure like to criticize our life choices.
