Quite literally everyone thinks that about where they live. Go on Reddit. None of it is based on fact, obviously. |
Don’t NOVA my RVA. Stay home. |
The transplants to NOVA already ruined NOVA itself. |
Charlottesville, too. Path of destruction. |
Yes fixing up houses is evil |
don’t fairfax my loudoun. |
I'm in the West End and don't consider those Richmond, but rural VA. The schools are bad too. In Short Pump, you get top rated schools (9 and 10) and you are 5 minutes away from solidcore, pure barre, whole foods, wegman's, and 15 minutes from Saks. One of the PP posted that (s)he lives near the University of Richmond. It is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Richmond but pricy and most people do private there. However the homes are adorable. https://www.redfin.com/VA/Richmond/6311-Three-Chopt-Rd-23226/home/55451400 https://www.redfin.com/VA/Henrico/12-Westham-Pkwy-23229/home/59672004 https://www.redfin.com/VA/Henrico/7110-University-Dr-23229/home/59672030 |
| how bad is traffic from short pump/ midlothian to downtown in rush hour? there seems to be new subdivisions near moseley as well, would the commute be hellish? |
|
Goochland is the sticks, but to me so is Short Pump. That’s not the west end. That’s the far west end. Schools are fine, lots of big box stores and other shopping.
Goochland = probably your worst nightmare = trucks, camo, people who vote Republican. Rural. Very. Short Pump = people who relocated there from somewhere else |
My neighborhood has maybe 4 native families left. It's all MDs from South Asia, upper management from Capital One, lawyers and fed IT consultants. |
That’s already been done. |
Eastern Loudoun (703), yes. Western loudoun (540) west of route 15 still resembles fauquier more than fairfax, cow pastures, vineyards, breweries, horse country; something you would never find in fairfax. |
Longtime Loudoun resident here. I hope it stays that way. But also to the prior posters point. Yes, short pump is basically fair oaks/eastern Loudoun. Very liberal but a bunch of box stores. |
From Short Pump, nothing. Maybe 20 minutes max? But I drove from Vienna to downtown DC for years so I know hell. |
i moved to western loudoun from great falls to fulfill my lifelong dream of owning a farmette. i still feel very passionate about preserving loudouns agarian roots; we created our own cow and goat fields and till our land with beautiful crops. luckily the government has largely begun to preserve land, it should prevent subdivisions from popping up. |
