Mine are doing great. I think parents who spend all the time complaining on DCUM instead of parenting may have a different set of issues.

She had the same job last year. She received votes of no confidence from two employee unions. I think we have already seen the downward spiral she wants to send the school system. You are new here. She is not. She started a year ago. What has she improved in her first year? No excuses.

I certainly think the 2021-22 school year was an improvement over the 2020-21 school year. There are still many additional improvements to be made, absolutely, but this past year was a better year than the virtual school year.

Improvement? Hardly. The fiasco in January calling for National Guard to drive kids to school? 2100+ staff out sick, 21 schools shut down for two weeks, 9%+ of the student body infected? Using federal covid money for $1M on bocce ball, $2M on discrimination training, $2M on Kid Museum? Holding kids at Magruder while the parents wait outside, showing up late because she doesn't live in the County so needed a police escort through traffic, but had the fashion sense to wear a pink outfit for the shooting? Going on a recruiting junket to pick up two personal awards at her alma mater when last year MCEA indicated 500 teachers wanted to retire or leave and this year was over 900?

If that's your idea of "improvement", that's pretty twisted.

Guess some of us our twisted as we like that schools were kept open all year. We’re okay with spending money on bocce ball as its an inclusive team sport. We’re okay with funds being spent on discrimination training. We understanding that kids we’re not kept in Magruder due to a press release but because of protocols and safety. We also know that teachers all across the country want to retire or leave the profession. Not great in general but not unique to MCPS. If these are the only faults that folks can find w/ McKnight then she must be doing a awesome job.

Protocols? Name one protocol that demands students be held hostage long after the shooter has been removed?

Agree their opinions seem to not be based on anything which makes me suspect that they are in fact just against McKnight because she's an AA woman. The only criticisms they have are crazy things like buying bocce equipment.

No, it's the schools job to (1) educate children, (2) ensure the children's safety and health, (3) responsibly manage taxpayer funds, and (4) ensure the proper operation of the school system and staff.

Here's a short list of why I think she shouldn't be Superintendent of Schools anymore:
- Spending $1M on bocce ball was just one of the questionable Federal grant expenditures that could have been waste fraud and abuse.
- Not prioritizing the crumbing schools for renovations.
- Lack of judgement accepting two awards on a recruiting junket at her alma mater
- Instead of having a covid plan, releasing videos (ex. what her favorite school lunch was)
- Begging for National Guard bus driver fiasco
- Turning the Magnet program into a Vegas-style lottery
- Discriminating against Asians lawsuit for the Magnet admissions program
- Shutting down 31 schools for two weeks, infecting over 9% of the student body and 2100 teachers for lack of a covid plan
- Magruder shooting wearing pink and needed a police escort through traffic for the press conference because she doesn't even live in the county and for some reason wasn't at the office that day
- Two MCEA no confidence votes
- Changing covid stats in March so it wasn't even possible for the public to know how many kids were out sick or infected at a school in a particular month / week / day.
- It remains to be seen if there will be enough teachers to teach classes in August, or how many teachers will be shuffled around like cattle to other schools come fall.
- A ton of open discrimination investigations from the Dept of Education OCR (when her strong suit was supposed to be fighting discrimination)

All of this was as acting Superintendent in about a year. Do you disagree that any of this is not true or have any news articles or a list of anything she's done that's been any good that shows her competency in the four bullet points of what she should have been doing in her job?
